Resident Evil 4 had me VERY scared at the beginning. I made my friend actually play the whole game in from of my face before I played it. Even now some parts still have me a little on-edge.

The Exmortis games creeped me out too.

And I'm horribly afraid of heights. I hate them.

seriously, it's probably even more frightening than the ocean floor, albeit that's a little closer to home

Oh, and I absolutely am discomforted by the knowledge of huge open spaces. Outer space is creepy, miles of ocean is creepy, both above and below water.

Outer space, the thought of the end of all life on earth coming from space in any form, and Death/the unknown.

QUOTE (SonicProject @ Jul 27 2008, 07:43 PM)
I have experienced "phantom insects". It's when you feel a tingling sensation like something is crawling on your body even though there is nothing there. I am afraid of spiders, ticks, and I generally find all bugs disgusting so I freak out if I feel like something is crawling on me. I also get a scare out of anticipating danger in games like Resident Evil. Things jumping out when I don't anticipate them too. In horror video games, atmosphere is everything to me. Take for example the scenario in Luigi's Mansion where the whole mansion has been plunged into darkness due to the thunderstorm outside. When the lightning flashes inside, the shadows seem to play tricks on you and the swarms of ghosts surrounding you with no safe haven to go to until you get the power back on really have an effect, at least on me. I wouldn't say that Luigi's Mansion is a scary game, but the atmosphere is amazing.

An example of scary moments I've had in a video game is in Resident Evil 4 when you know the chainsaw wielding Plagos are about. Well they always freak me out.

You know, that's just what I would have said.

But less wordy.

I was scared ****less when I first played Resident Evil 4 (Wii version) primarily because I had never played a survival horror game before. I had nightmares after I encountered all those zombies in the village. The game is pretty damn good though.

Wait, I forgot, I'm randomly afraid of heights. If it's metal-related, I'm terrified to death, but if I'm in a tree or something, I keep trying to go higher.

Movies usually don't scare me, but they do after the movie is over. I remember watching Nightmare on Elm Street the first time and not wanting to go to bed for days.

Transvestites also kind of scare me (no offense to anybody, i'm just uncomfortable with it). I'm ok with most insects but I don't like worms since they're so slimy. I mean, at least spiders sort of look like animals, but worms are just fat string things that move around in the earth all day... creepy.

In games

When I was 7 and saw that piano in Mario 64.

Also I was scared of Luigi's Mansion when I first got it.

Movies

Movies don't scare me because they don't know how to use fear in horror movies (in general). Its usually all about torture now, which I just think is sick to watch.
The last horror movie that scared me (the way you want horror movies too) was 30 days of night)

In real life I am very scared of people in general, especially those that dress like gangsters.

In he Prime games, it will take me three hours to navigate an otherwise normal, two-minute room that is populated with Metroids that aren't the little cute infants. As soon as I hear them make their dashing noise I turn into the Morph Ball and lay a power bomb. Eventually I run out and leave the room and come back later to try again.

This doesn't apply to rooms that only have one Metroid at a time, such as in the first Prime when you first encounter one and killing it is mandatory.

That kinda-sorta happened to me the first time, Draco. Now they're more annoying that anything.

And alongside my other fears, I also hate spiders. Even the phantom ones SP talked about.
