I need a program or site that can invert all the colors in an image except White (255,255,255) and Black (0,0,0). Anybody know of anything than can do this?

I could do this manually but I'd rather find a program that will do it itself.

ImageMagick should do a such thing:
CODE
imconvert INPUTFILE -negate -channel RGBA -transparent white -fill white -opaque black -fill black -opaque none OUTPUTFILE

Replace INPUTFILE and OUTPUTFILE with the filenames

I know you would rather find a program, but if worse came to worse, there are several easy ways to do this. So if you would care to, read on. I'm sorry that I don't have the answer you wanted.

- Invert the image with MS Paint
- Chose WHT as your primary color, choose some color not used in your image as the secondary color (usually a default color like red)
- Choose the eraser tool, and hold Ctrl and + down together until the eraser tool is huge.
- Holding down a right click, run over the entire image to swap the white.
- Set primary to BLK, secondary to WHT, and repeat.
- Choose the color you replaced WHT with the first time as your primary and make WHT your secondary color. Run over the image again, and you're through.

Alternatively, if you have something that swaps out colors (like Game Maker's image editor), you can use that instead of the eraser tool.

Again, sorry for the lack of a decent answer, but if all else fails, this is a simple method (despite all the text).

yeah this is pretty much the easiest way.

QUOTE (LGB @ Aug 2 2008, 09:08 AM)
Just change the color back to black and white.

The reason that is annoying to do is that there are places in the picture where black and white are beside each other.

So when I change the black back into white then when I change the white into black the white parts will turn black again.

You see my dilemma?

GIMP has a Built-In Color Invert and Value Invert. Works better than anything else suggested here. XD

I'm downloading it now.
Lets see if it works...

Ok I have it but I can't seem to figure out how to choose what colors not to invert.
