When you IP ban a member, does it ban the most recently IP that was used to access the boards, or does it ban the IP that was used to register?

I needed to know this because I'm going to make a forum again and have had people I've needed to ban before, but I never did IP bans.

You have to manually type in the IP that you want to ban.

Most of the time, the most recent IP used to access the boards are the same as the IP used to register.

Edit: If you plan to ban the IP specified in the image below, then you'll ban the IP that the post was from.

Edit2:
By the way, don't use Invisionfree. I recommend IPBfree.

Oh I know that I'm just saying in the case of someone tried to access from like a different computer would it change the ip to that one.

Yes, it would.

Every computer's IP is different.

That's the case on how people can create dupes, either by that or proxies. You just have to keep an eye out.

I know every computer's IP is different.

Ok so that means for example my IP here would read as my laptop's IP.

Ok that's how I thought it went. Now I can go ahead and make my forum. Just needed to know this to be more prepared for dupes and such like Nad said

If your using your laptop for posting the message that you just posted, then it would read as your laptop's IP.
