I did not win the Sprite Comp; I got fourth place. But Sonic_Penguin15 (the winner) is unable to log on to the forums currently, but this is his request:

The original post could use some references for people to look at when spriting. The last comp lacked them, and that may have been a factor in why it wasn't very successful.

Yeeeeeah. That may help.

BTW, for any Ideas, go to Lemmy's land and search throuh the fun fictions and find Plitemon and what not.

I'm starting right away.

I don't really know of any examples...

A Pokémon style MFGG sprite is the closest thing to it I have.

Can it be any pokemon game?

I think he want's R/S/E or D/P/Pl styled.

um...there are lots of ripped pkmn sprites that already exist

Oh I thought by example he meant a PKM styled Mario sprite.
In that case I'll add an example to the first post. Just a sec.

If he didn't say that, it shouldn't matter.

...Plus, I might not want to do RSE or DP style so

Also, your Mario's pretty good, but the front pose seems a little iffy.

K, so I'm going to attempt to tear this apart and take advantage of it...

Okay, so he say Mario characters in Pokemon style eh? hmmm...

And he states that the traditional "fron and back pose" idea are just examples...

That means that Pokemon Pinball, Mystery Dungeon, Ranger, and others are also fair game, which I think sounds fair since some people might not be good, or like the main game styles.

SOME RSE STYLE RULES:
1. 64x64 limit
2. 15 colors and transparency

It's a wip, but taking from what SGG said, I may change it.

And screw the running poses.

So far.
Basically, I'm doing the intro scene from the original game in G/S/E style.
E. Gadd is Oak, Mario is the player, Goomba is the pokemon Oak shows you in the beginning, and Luigi will be your rival.
And I'll probably make overworld sprites and stuff too.
