Mushroom'mon, ignore the obvious and stupid title

I don't like the Mama Piranha at all. If you look at the G/S style, there's actually quite a bit of shading despite the color restriction. I think she could use some.

The rest are very nice.

At first, the title made me think this was a jamaican Mario spoof, this is pretty awesome.

From what I've seen, most of the shading on sprites with two seperate colors, black, and white, is done with white, which would take away from the white spots on the sprite itself.
I'm gonna try to look at how the sprites do it more, though, so I'll figure it out.
