I just got Pokemon Crystal and it doesn't save. Can you somehow replace the battery in it?

No.

Unless (1) you actually managed to find one, and (2) were crazy enough to take it apart and replace it, without damaging the circuits.

Just wait a while for the GSC remakes.

Same thing happened to my Gold Version. Perhaps it does that over age?

Seven years. Which it's been about seven years since they were produced.

Maybe if you can dump the ROM and copy it to a new cartridge, if such a thing is possible. Maybe copy it to a CF card together with a emulator with file-system saver, that should also work.

So there aren't any businesses that can fix it? Can't GameStop fix it or something?

As I recall, Nintendo can replace the battery if you send the game to them. Ask through Customer Services, you might get something.

I think it can be done. Arcade operators will sometimes do such to prevent having to change the battery whenever it dies.

Actuallly,if I had a charger, the game wouldn't lose it's data as long as the charger is charging the Gameboy, right?
