I've tried several and none are responding on my comp. They won't move, click or scroll and it's a pain in the ass to use a keyboard only. Fast help please. ;_;

He said none of his other mouses worked so that isn't the problem.

windows has this stupid property where it won't recognize a PS/2 mouse unless it was plugged in before it started booting. try rebooting with the mouse plugged in.
failing that, pick up a simple USB mouse (I swear by this one in particular).

Sounds like the PS/2 mouse socket may be disabled in BIOS. I'd explain how to check, but it's a different process for each computer. Does your mouse show up in Device Manager?

Ok wow. I'm using a ****ing NUMPAD MOUSE atm and this is worse than no mouse. :S

Rebooting with the mouse already plugged in didn't work, and how much does a USB mouse cost? ;_;

ok, theres literally no logical explanation. i went to the repair shop near here and it worked fine, but i bought a new mouse anyway.

and on a better note, the store owner asked if i wanted to work there on my free time biggrin.gif
