You know, I don't think it was fair to have "stolen" as an answer. Some things (such as rips) will always be exactly the same (barring sprite quantity), and I believe Delmore asked if stolen sprites were part of it and it was denied that it was.

Also, it seems popular members were chosen over less popular members, which I find unfair.

Most popular members = Old members
Old members = Most MFGG experienced

Sure, anybody that submits an entry can be good, but it's a lot better when the person is well-known and respected.

And stolen is a huge issue

You forgot one:

• A game's graphics should never influence one's decision when it comes to moderating. Same goes for other superficial qualities, such as sounds, transitions, etc.

And after all my rants in the staff forum, too! By the way, it's Wario Land 2, you silly Squirrel. ;P

Oh, okay, it was based on length of time, instead of popularity. Because that's what led to the Bay of Pigs (for those who don't know, Kennedy only won because he looked good)

And I know stealing's a big issue, but when Delmore asked about it, from what I gathered, they said it wasn't part of the test.

In my defense, I'm hardly popular here at MFGG.

And ripped sprites all comes down to who did the ripping. If we get a sheet whose layout is the exact same as some other sheet (excluding credit tag), then yeah, we're more inclined to decline that submission.

About that stolen thing...
we didn't know who posted the rips, because it wasn't supplied for us, so how could we know if it was stolen or if the person who made it actually posted it?

Take the music submissions for example; although they were all from vgmusic, the person who created those songs could have been the one who posted them.

IIRC the packs had music made by multiple authors.

If there's a next time could you include the descriptions?

So this is like a "Miss MFGG"....with a small test so we can see if our girls are smart or not?

Irony apart, I thought it was very fair. Also, Pucifur and MTC are awesome.


I just though the MIDI's part were way too hard. iI would never had guessed that.

With the MIDIs and sprite sheets, it was a good idea to cross reference vgmusic and Spriter's Resource respectively. Lots of MIDIs have the author's name as one of the sound tracks, and when those don't match, you have an issue.

I don't pretend to be an expert, but that's what I did.

IIRC, I did well on the reviews section and got most of the games section right, but completely screwed up on the sprites - I declined Beer Penguin on account of "not enough sprites for such an obscure enemy" or something like that.
