QUOTE (tri0nex @ Aug 16 2008, 08:50 PM)
But spelling does help, so you can understand better, but the main point is
to understand what they are trying to say.

QUOTE
Also again, I find irony in this laughable grammar you keep using -- "I'm just saying that a lot of people on the internet talk understandable and a lot of people talk not understandable." You claim people need to learn to spell and justify your complaint with the fact you can't understand them, but the same goes for people who can't use grammar properly. Horrible grammar makes people as hard to understand as bad spelling does. So why don't we just discuss bad grammar while we're at it?

Still applies.

The guy makes a topic and you guys turn on him and start judging his posts.
------

Bad spelling doesn't bother me too much, but when it is posted in a spammy matter, it does.

Gentlemen, the Heavy does not speak good English, should we harass him? Anyway, this is just a simple topic asking if you think it would be better if everybody spoke in understandable English. This is a good topic, and a fair idea, I think we should get back on topic.

Bad spelling can be fixed, but people who use txt language bother me. This is the internet, not your cell phone.

Personally, I do not want to see this place turn into Facepunch with all the enforcing of grammar and spelling. But I do think something should be done about those of whom that use chatspeak in posts and never proof-read. That's my two pennies.

Were you writing a poem or something? After every statement, you went to the next line.

Sometimes also during the statements. :/

ANYWAY, Grammar and Spelling are not everything, but one should at least try to spell and type as close to the official grammar and spelling rules as they can.

If one makes a few mistakes from time to time, nobody will kill them for that, but constant bad spelling, especially when it's on purpose, is quite annoying.

It doesn't have to be perfect, but doing same easy-to-avoid mistakes constantly gets annoying.

Like: your instead of you're and its instead of it's.

I also can't tolerate complete lack of punctuations. EDIT: Also posts that are just pure unreadable (messy word order).

As much as I agree with you, Tri, butt theirs always gna b peeps who spel things rong.

What I hate is when people spell things wrong like 'dat' and 'u' for the sole reason that they think that they're cool. Pisses me off.

I don't really care too much, as long as I can read it. The ' should be placed right, because it makes words different. (In b4 Black Squirrel). Also, I don't care if you write everything small. It's just not important.
