But it would be nice to have the option on the main site for tutorials made with things like Java and C and whatever. I mean we keep preaching that the "true" programming languages are better than GameMaker and Clickteam products but there's no site support for them!

Agreed!

And Razz, Perl's logo has a camel.

This

except you should probably limit the number of programs/languages you can set.
Or the member can just pick his top 3 favorite.

I find it very unlikely there's going to be people here that are fluent in 16 game creation tools cool2.gif

but yeah it should probably be limited to the programs and languages people actually use. A lot of people know how to use TGF but they don't because they use MMF2 etc.

Also stuff that's missing from that list that probably needs to be added:

-C
-C#
-C++
-Klik 'n' Play
-Basic?
-RPG Maker
-A generic "other" one

Shouldn't we just stick to MMF2, TGF2, Game Maker, C, Flash and LUA anyways

I mean, the others are pretty rare
like really rare

What about Stencyl? When it's released it might be good to have a button for that.

...And maybe MechaSource too?

Yes, and keep RPG Maker. Its icon would be a small castle, I guess, and both me and (I think) Shanks use it (versions don't really matter).

user posted image says:

Python is rare because people underestimate it - "It's only a scripting language!". It is slow as GM, but can be used for many other things.

And development speed matters!

In reality there's hundreds of different programming languages and catering for all of them will be a bit... annoying

If we're unable to make icons for all of them howabout just text?

though it needs re-wording. Also my image editor doesn't agree with Firefox when it comes to how Verdana is displayed.

Sure they both share some common syntax, but there's quite a bit different about each of them.

It's pretty much like MMF2, TGF2, MMF1.5, TGF1.5. They all share the same basics but are quite different if you tried each of them out.

But we're mergining those into Clickgaming or MMF2 or whatever, since they're ideally the same.

TGF1.5? I've... never seen that one before. Got any info to share about it?

Kinda a nerfed and cheaper version of MMF1.5 as far as I remember.

Don't think TGF 1.5 exists - the last version of the original TGF was 1.06 or something

I heard Multimedia Fusion Express was a step up from TGF - perhaps that's what you mean?
