A quick summary of what the game will be about for those who forgot: - Simple gameplay - Four different characters (however, we've had suggestions to be able to unlock more after the game is over), namely the Mario Bros. and Wario Bros. - Each character gets a special move: Mario=Wallkick, Luigi=Super Jump, Wario=Charge, Waluigi=yet undecided - We'll have a worldmap - We'll have characters selectable either on the worldmap or anywhere else outside of the levels - We'll have a classic hitpoints system like in SM64. - We will also have classic Mario enemies AND Wario-Land enemies - Engine is compatible with GM6 lite, however will be programmed with pro features that can be switched off when you don't have pro. (thanks to xn for the solution to this) - The engine we will use will be a optimized mixture of both xn's and my engine, created for the CFP engine contest.
Basically, just go ahead and post your ideas and thoughts. If they are good, they will make it on the official To-Do list. If they are not... well, then not.

Ok, suggestions, do I have any...
One thing we didn't decide is items and towns within levels. Personally, I think some levels should have towns with shops that you can buy stuff from, like Mushrooms for more life. Kinda like a Paper Mario style inventory.
And I think, to add replay value, there should be something like the trading game in the Zelda series, but not necessarily trading things with people. Instead, you may find an item that unlocks a new area, then in the area you find a person that gives you a hint to the next one, etc. Then, after all of it, you would unlock something big, like a new character, or a new ability, or something.
These are just some ideas, any variation of them would work fine. I just really hope we can get this game to feel like a real Mario game, not just a simple Fangame.

I had an idea: What about co-op gameplay? Look at this HUD I whipped up:  I know it's not the best, but hear me out. It's only an example. Let me explain the HUD. 1.The 3 is the number of lives. You share them. 2.The 3 green blocks are separate bonus lives When you die, if you have one you can return without using the lives in the middle. 3.The Green Bar is the HP meter. Nuff' Said. 4.The blue bar is the EXP meter. 5.When your EXP bar fills up, one of these blocks will fill. They will level you up. When all the blocks fill, they will reset except for the first one. That will up you a Star Rank, which is better than a level because it will give you a new move. Just give me your opinions.

A decent amount of coders? I was hoping for an amount of decent coders, though. Also, Gamesmonkey: Your idea is somewhat nice, and in other circumstances I'd love to try it out, but this CFP is the first one of MFGG to be finished. We won't do over-complicated stuff and we have already agreed on the basics (look them up in the first post). Your level-up-and-power-up idea contradicts them. For CFP#3, perhaps, we can get back to this, however we need to finish #2 first  And to all who are wondering when we'll finally start: I'll write a set of Rules and Guidelines today. As soon as that is done, Dex will create the topics for the spriters, to begin with. So that means, spriters can begin their work later this day. Stay tuned. Engineers have to wait a bit, since I still have to finish the engine-merging.
