Well, that would be an easy way for a cameo. Another possibility could be to sneak them in, in other creative ways, like in the backgrounds, ot you see hteir shadows or other possibilities.
The cards are more in there to give info and such for characters to let you know more about the people you are seeing, and in some cases, to explain holes in the story.

K, I won't be on for the next meeting, so like last time, this post hill have all my ideas.
-I think we should make some simple gameplay videos showing some leves. This would boost productivity (at least for me anyways), and by being able to see the levels in play, music would be easier to make that fits (according to DJYoshiman).
-Different Shy Guys for different areas. I need some ideas mainly. Ice world and ghost world are taken care of already, but yeah.
-Each persons area in the gold castle should have a special boss at the end (before the final boss). The boss would a silhouette version of something else, most likely relating to their past (example: Wario fights a shadowy version of the black crystal).
-Each bonus character has an ability close to that of a normal one, but it works differently. Wariocite rams but goes longer, Yoshi can high jump by using his flutter jump, Geno can slip in small openings by leavng his doll body, Peach plays evenly. These are just my ideas though. This would help in things like Boss Rush mode since some battles require abilities (disguise guy)
-Ocean boss (not mini boss) should require you to switch between two different characters. One above water, on under and it could auto switch at points. Like the fighting will stop an you'll see a cut scene.
- My idea for the ocean boss is to have Syrup fight Mario and Wario on her ship, and at points (after every hit?) she summons a giant blooper that grabs the player and holds them in the air. At this point, the camera shifts deep under water where Luigi/Waluigi have to duke it out with the blooper to make it let go.

I agree with SGG.
Underwater he should probably move in any direction, but faster horizontally. Here it's more simaler to a regular boss battle, besides being underwater. The thing is, Mawl moves very fast horizontally, but is slow to stop (think of those spiked fish from smw). You have to get right in his way, then fall down or swim up before he can turn (this is a challenge because, well, you're underwater so there isn't such a thing as fast in a mario game).
Not entirely sure what to do next. This could work, but It's simaler in how you hurt him, which makes sense but is kinda boring.
He'll get his teeth stuck in the wall. Once he is in the wall, you have to grab a piece of scenery (like coral), which always grows back (when offscreen only though, the arena should be about 1.5 screens vertically, and 2.5 screens horizontally). You try to hit his forhead, which is hard to hit because it is not always possible, he struggles.
I just thought of a different one.
A second way is to grab his tail. Then you try to yank it in various directions (sm64 style bowser here). He'll then swing his tail to whack you off, and get out of the wall.Don't ask me how this hurts him, unless his teeth are in the wall for this way too. You have to do this a couple times, before he starts spitting out cheep-cheeps for the second half.
Eventually, he starts spitting out cheep-cheeps (not too many, it depends if they swim out of the arena or stay in though). He might also try to whack his tail around while you try to grab it too (before you grab it only, he won't fling you off until he gets out).
Also, maybe he could spit out bloopers, sushis, anything else he may have accidentally swallowed through his huge maw on the way down.

Actually, my idea is that he goes underwater after you beat him, at which point he becomes a level for Luigi/Waluigi, no that he rises and sinks.
