In the jungle area, I think we could have a spot where you are covered in a flood of Fuzzies (bouncy crazy ones). The level could also have POW blocks that you can toss sitting here and there. You use these to clear a path so you can move forward easily until they return.

In times when they are all over the place, you will be slowly pushed backwards towards a pit. You can avoid trouble by getting to higher ground, or jumping. WHen jumping, you will not be pushed back very, but there will still be some drag.



As for the DSi Horror (Pause menu) I was thinking that is could look like a normal DSi, but instead of the words "Nintendo DSi" in the background, we could have this logo on the box, possibly vectored if possible. Tbh, I'd enjoy seeing the whole pause menu vectored. Why? Well, how I see it is that the player is holding hte DSi Horror right in front of them, so it would be a normal object in their face, so it would appear more clear, sharp, and less pixaly.

SGG, why do you call the DSi Menu "DSi Horror"? The "Horror" name only fit in Luigi's Mansion as it was obviously about ghosts and horror.

also, what would it bring if the DSi was vectored?
It wouldn't look less pixelly than the resolution allows, so making sprites of the DSi should work good enough.

I called it the "DSi Horror" as a throw back to the game Luigi's Mansion, since something like this would most likely be an model 2 of the original Gameboy Horror.


As for the vector, I know it would still look pixeled, I mainly want to try and make it look like the real DSi screen.

Not everything has to be themed to gold. Besides, the gold thing is apart of the bad guys plot, why would Gadd name an invention he most likely made before hand after the bad guys plot?

Off topic, but.......heres a plan for the midas battle. (see page 7)

Cutscene: mario, luigi, wario, and waluigi barge into wherever syrup and bowser are in the last level. bowser gets a little nervous, but syrup simply laughs. she says that now that all of the gold shrooms are with the midas machine, King midas will be revived. The heros watch in horror as king midas reforms in the air. When he drops down and hits the ground, syrup commands him to destroy the bros. apparently, he doesnt like taking orders, so grabs syrup by her feet, swings her around SM64 style, and throws her at bowser, then turns them into gold. right when he was going to smash them, he turns to the heros. He says this world is to greedy and evil, and states he cant trust anybody now. he then engages battle with the bros.

Battle:His is ability is to transform his arms into various weapons, and summon gold enemies. he has hammer, gun, drill, sword and axe arms. plus, he can shoot basts of golds to temporarely immobilelize you.

Hammer arm: he does a brawl hammer move like thing. at the end of the attack, he will smashes the ground really hard, making a massive shock wave, then throws the hammer. (aka his arm, but his arm grows back.)Jump on the hammer and then throw it at him for damage.

Gun arm: he flies into the air, and then a cursor starts homing on mario. Keep on the move, or youll be sniped. when he fires a banzai bill, pick it up and throw it at him to cause pain.

Drill: No way to hurt him on this one. he throws a gold rock into the air, and then drills it when hes airborne. this will cause a meoteor shower type of thing.

Sword: he runs, jumps, and wall bounces with his sword. get close, and theres a really good chance youll get slashed. he will also some times fire a gold lazer, and trap you in a gold box. jump repeaditly to break out while hes charging his super slash. Do it too late, and GARUNTEED hit. At the end of the attack, if you didnt get trapped in gold, he will charge up a REALLY strong sword attack. bounce on him when hes doing this to throw him off balance. He will then hit the wall, which hurts him.

Axe: He has fast, random, long range slashes with his axe arm. at the end of his slashes, he'll become a spinning AXE TORNADO> He will then throw his axe arm at you with great accuracy. (his arm grows back) if it misses, it will get wedged in the wall. jump on the handle, grab it, and throw it at him to hurt him.

We already have that covered. It might help if you attend a meeting now and then.

DSi Horror should be DSh (DShorror) since the GameBoy Horror was a GameBoy Colour, not a GameBoy, so horror shouldn't just be tacked on the end.

It's not a ds horror. It's a DSe.

For the mouser races, there should probably be parts where the mouser would come out for a bit, but then go back into an inaccessable area, it need not just be the end.

Secondly, they don't have to be straightforward, even the mouser path could change a bit, that way the race can be better. For instance, you could go down and reverse directions once or twice. There could even be vertical races maybe, either up or down.

Only thing is probably requiring a real path for the mouser for certain ones.

It's not a race if you can catch hm half way through it.



Thats how it works. It wouldn't make sense for it to go straigh forward.

Okay, 2 ideas.


1- In the ice world, there could be a tower called Thwomp Tower. This would lead to the worlds boss (We haven't decided on the actual boss yet have we? I forget) the Simon Says Thwomps. The inside of the tower is full of Thwomps, Thwimps, and others in the species.

2- Feather Feet- This would be a power up of sorts. It would only appear in certain levels, and it would only work in said level. It works just like Goomba's Shoe from SMB3, or like doing a spin jump on normaly unjumpable enemies in SMW. For example, if you normaly jump on a thwomp, it would hurt, but with these shoes, you will pop off. This could be interesting as it would allow the player to use Thwomps and other creatures as elevators and platforms.

Loving those ideas, Grey.

Very sorry for bumping this thread, but I have a few ideas as well.

1) Individual character victory themes, similar to Super Mario Kart. For example, Mario's jingle could be a remix of the classic SMB flagpole theme, Luigi's theme could be the some kind of non-horror remix of the Luigi's Mansion victory theme, WL4 level clear music for Wario, etc.

2) Game Over screens. Maybe we could have something more interesting than just a black screen with the words "Game Over" on it. Maybe have your character flat on the floor under a spotlight (ala Paper Mario), or have one of the villians' emblems (Bowser if you die as the Mario Bros., Syrup, if she has one, if you die as the Wario Bros.) on the background with the character in front, looking defeated. A menu could pop up, asking you if you want to save the game and quit or continue. If you choose to continue, there can be an alternate animation.

3) For the Piranha Guts level, have Emoglobins (from M&L:BiS) in the area to give general hints and globins.

I don't know if this has been decided/discussed/fits here, but I think this game should have some nice little effects here and there. (effect SPRITES)

for example: When running on sand (desert/ruins/sandy grounds etc) there should be dust below the character's feet. If landing somewhere/walljumping/stomping enemies/kicking shells etc. there should be little effect sprites too.
It makes the game more alive.

Surprised that this hasn't been proposed. What if this game had a Super Guide? Y'know, as a nice touch? Then again a lot of mario fangames are going to have it, so I dunno.
