Just another idea I got...

I think that in boss fights, you should be able to change around your character. That way, we can make the bosses more complicated.

Not sure if anyone said this yet, but what about a check point station that functions like the character swap thing in DK64. It saves your location and lets you change characters. This could help for levels that start in favor of one characters abilities, and end in the favor for another.


Also, I think Waluigi should be agile underwater since he is shown to have a thing for swimming in some of the games.

Yes to this.
As for what it would look like, I think something similar to the early Crash Bandicoot games would be good. This is where the health is shown as a segmented bar that has the boss's name on it.

As long as we don't know what kinds of bosses we will have, we can't say such things for sure.

E.g. if all bosses require three hits of some sorts, a health bar would be unnecessary.
Also I don't recall any Mario game where bosses have health bars... (not that it matters, but still)

This is just me thinking out loud here, but I think we should perhaps stray from that beaten path. I think for all the bosses that come before the first Bowser/Syrup encounter, three hits is good. Afterwards, I think maybe there should be more required.

The bosses of Wario Land 4, Wario World, Super Princess Peach, and Wario: MoD all had visible HP.

Bosses should take different amount of hits. Certain may take just one (Like a Big Bully that you have to push over a cliff) and others may take 10 or more.

Random Ideas for waluigi's Ability:

-Skateboard, Waluigi rides a skateboard throught the level for a limited time allowing him to do jump spins and tricks like that

-Air swim- Like seen in mario hoops he swims in the air allowing him to reach previously unreachable areas to other characters and allows faster in-water swimming.

-Waluigi Dart Roackets across the screen passing through anything and killing all enemies until a certain power runs out or by other interruptions

-waluigi tornado basically what it means he fires up some storms around him while being a human tornado

just some quickies.

Not sure if this has come up, but what if we add a SMB2 element by having pullable grass from time to time. Not everywhere, just in locations that might have enemies that you can't hit directly. This could also be used in a boss battle.

We need an industrial level. Just one. That way SGGs Gotcha Wrench could have a place to go, and for the music, a possible awesome remix of Toad's factory from MKwii? We need some odd yet awesome songs to come back, along with some classics. It could be the miniboss level of world one, and have Smithy as the boss..?

WALUIGI NEEDS A TENNIS RACKET.

OK, instead of throwing things, Wally could send them back at the person who sent whatever projectile, or hit one enemy into another ala SMB2. It'd make some good boss fights and puzzles. (Maybe for a bonus level, have good and bad items thrown at Wally and you need to decide whether to hit them or not).

Alright.

I know everyone decided on "no in level switches" but what about a checkpoint system like in DK 64 where you can switch?

Otherwise it'd be based on luck. I mean, say your going to a level that has tons of pits and tiny platforms. Now, the player doesn't know this, so they pick Luigi. Next thing they know, they're sliding off the tiny platforms. I think it'd be fair to have a checkpoint switch system since the player would have to work there way to it.

As far as Waluigi, heres my opinion.
He should be a very agile swimmer (think a perma frog suit) as well as being able to jump the highest out of water, and, due to being so lanky, very awkward on land. I'm talking slipping, slow jumping.

Also, when throwing items, he can throw them slightly higher, like how yellow pikmin work.

I like this idea, but I'm not sure about having Smithy as the boss. How about another Mecha Bowser robot instead? It could maybe be controlled by Bowser Jr. cool2.gif

Maybe a monster making machine? It has a health bar divided into X amounts of health. So 200 HP total, with 50 for each monster. You need to use the monster that it made to kill you to hurt the machine. Damage is done when you damage the machine. The monster dies when the machine is at X amount of health, and automatically makes another monster to use.


EG: Think Birdo but bigger and stationary. Instead of eggs, you get pickup-able mini bosses.
