It's good enough for it's purpose, and would someone please give c+c for the sewer thing, I need to know what to fix, I also just started trying to sprite And I want good expierience.

I tried to make some desert tiles, because those were in bold in the CFP Master List topic:

@ DL: Your sheet doesn't look too spectacular. It's basically a wall. I see nothing wrong with it, though. There's just not much to comment on.

@ MrGuy: I like those, but as you pointed out they don't match the style.
A black outline might help and I don't really like the bricks for regular desert stuff. For inside ruins it would work though.

try outlining it. See where it gets you.

Also, anything I should add to mine? I know the spike is dull but for the number of pixels to spikes, it has to be.

Okay, lets see, the original spikes would look the best, but make the ones on the sides 1 pixel shorter.

Also, the desert is too rough in transitions from light to dark. It needs a slight gradiant but not so much as to lose the granual texture. Secondly, it needs more contrast, try making several different colored bricks on any one tile. Again, the shading is too rough on the bricks.

Finally outline it.

First bump because no one listened to my suggestions about making it look better, And I was away for over a week.

Also:

Fixed my sewers up a bit. Now it looks awesome. By the way it's somewhat based off of nsmb sewers.

I like the layout of these, however we don't have a health bar, but a 3-point hit system.
Look at the concept art topic to see SGGs attempt on designing that life gauge.

I tried to make a mario "in-map" sprite, I used Dex's mario front pose as a reference

Thought I might as well show some of the updates on my sewers. The platform with the line through the middle is at the top of the water, and when mario or whoever gets on it, it starts sinking exponentially fast. Then slows down and eventually starts to ride when he gets off. It could be cool for a puzzle, maybe you have to hit a switch and get back up there before it rises all the way.

EDIT: Imageshack is super-slow in uploading right now.

Crap, tinypic does it too, that's why I switched to imageshack. Photobucket used to not jpegify pngs, then I switched when it did, apparently tinypic isn't better.
