I think that he should be as tall as SGG's original, but in real games he's almost always "bowing his legs" (I don't know the English term, but hopefully you know what I'm talking about), so if that's applied, it would work.

Wait, now that I look again, I fail to see how it is too tall. I mean, judging by 16x16 blocks, we'd have to have a 2 block tall entrance to stop him, and even if that is the case, then that would also have conflicted with the original.

Sorry to drag this out, but I really like the original.

While in theory it would of course be possible to make Waluigi automatically duck or something when he enters such a tunnel (only visually) it would still be a problem with his collision with enemies and if we have to change his collision mask depending on the environment, then this is not gonna be very fun.

Your Waluigi is 13 pixels higher than Wario (who is 32 pixels), which means that Waluigi's entire head will be in the ceiling when he jumps to a ceiling.

What about the original Waluigi though? He was in the 3 block range as well but you didn't seem to mind.

I'd say keep the current proportions, save for maybe shortening the legs a bit, and have him hunched over more. Waluigi is nearly always hunched over at least some what, so that could be a good loophole to keep his height and such correct while making him fit the right size. He could straighten up in poses that would be seen in places where he wasn't playable like cut scenes and such. That way, he's still the right size and will be seen as such, but he would fit in the levels well. Make sense? It ended up wordier than I was expecting...

It is only 7 pixels higher than Wario, which isn't even half a block.

I gotta be honest, the Waluigi we were using was a lot better. The facial features were more noticable, it was already partially animated, and there's really no point trying to improve something that looks fine as it is.

Forget making shinier sprites for characters we already have sprites for, the main priority should still be making poses for Wario and Waluigi.

So fix the chin and edit the body a little, simple as that. And I thought it looked fine for this game, it fit in with the rest perfectly :[

I can't help but agree with Glukom. sad.gif
It doesn't matter that much if you stick to the official sizechart with every single inch of every character. The characters must just look good in the game, and if for Waluigi it is only possible to achieve that by not using the size chart for reference, then it must be done.

Either go for a more crouched position or cheat a little with his size.

I don't care if we use the original, but Glukom, if you are so touchy on which we use, perhaps you'd like to finish it?

Also, as for the problems I had with it...

It was mainly the face, so I made some small edits. The only thing I didn't liek about the original is the fact that the legs width seems to change at random. They need to be lanky, right now the original looks like a slightly taller Luigi with Waluigi's head.

Pls don't get into an argument now. Iirc we had this in the original CFP already and it wasn't really helping the situation.

Whoever does the sprite can decide how it looks, we have to give that much creativity freedom, just the size (when normally standing) shouldn't be higher than 40 pixels, that would be the real maximum.

Oh well, either way, sorry if I sounded like a jerk. I'd like to be honest though, I don't care for the original. It just sticks out to much imo. Why? Every other character looks like they are meant to, while Waluigi looks like an anvil fell on him. If anything, I'd like some time to try and make a new one that fits the size better, and the style, or at least edit the current ones body some to make it more lanky like Waluigi should be.

^ sounds good.
I mean you said you'd do him crouching for when he's in a 2-block tunnel anyway, so how about you do only that. =)
