Welcome to the Engine topic!
The engine exists, as most of you know, but I still have it for some adjustments before it can be released to you.

The reason why I post this topic now is simple:

If you are interested in helping the CFP by working on the engine in any form
... that, also includes level design and such...

Then there will be a live workshop in a kind of chatroom.

Your first task is to sign here and add the following information:
- What you want to do (level desing/actual engine working)
- On which days of the following do you have time, and what time? Friday 22nd, Saturday 23rd or Sunday 24th of August 2008
(Because these three dates are available as to when the workshop will take place)
- Can you use AIM, MSN or the IRC chat?


For all those who can't take part in the workshop (which's date will be chosen based on the days members have time), there will be a transcript available later and the most important questions will be typed out in the topic and you would still have the chance to ask me later, of course.


My own answers:
- I am the lead programmer
- I have time on all three days, 24 hours if it must be, but I'd prefer a time between 20.00 and 24.00 GMT+1 (which would be roughly 13.00 and 17.00 in Central-American Time).
Here is a table of Time Zones.
If you find Berlin on the map, you will find what time I have right now and based on that you can find out what time you have.
- I'd prefer AIM, but also use MSN and the IRC if there's no other way.

- Preferred times would be from 10PM - 2AM on Friday and Saturday and 10PM - 12AM on Sunday (GMT +3). Same as Guinea's.
- I only use AIM

However, my dial up subscription wears out at the end of the month, and I'm hoping to get a laptop and set up my wireless connection before september 1st.

If not, then I will not be availible after sep 1st.

Just reporting: The engine is well underway.
I implemented a system for enemies, too. It shouldn't be too difficult once you know how it works.

For the workshop, you will be able to get your hands on it.

-Engine work and level design
-Friday and Saturday, 9-12PM GMT+10, Sunday Unknown, but probably 4-10PM GMT+10

Ok, like I thought, most of you have time on Saturday and as late as possible.
Plus it seems like we're going to use the IRC Chat of MFGG.
(For those who don't know how to access it: In the top-right corner of MFGG's boards, you find a link named "Chat". Click that and you're almost there, requires Java though!)

ATTENTION! The workshop has been shifted for 1 hour!
Due to a birthday party I didn't calculate in my plannings, I can't be here at 22.00 tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure to be here at 23.00.
Since such parties are always inpredictable to a certain degree, it could even happen that I'm only here at midnight, GMT+1.
Sorry for the trouble, but I hope this is ok for you!

So I'm trying to convert GMT to EST and lemme get this right...

GMT is London.
EST is America. Therefore it's in the afternoon.

Afternoon in london or in America?

In EST.

GMT+1 is Central Europe. When it is midnight there, it is afternoon in America.

Just look at the timezones link I put up in the first post and you get an idea how much the differences between my time (where Berlin is) and your time is.
