Gangsta BETA (will change title later), Play as a Gangster in L.A.

game features:
car models
gun models
you can hold/fire pistol (fireing doesn't look good at all yet)
you can drive cars
walk/around a very small city ATM
and some more features

controlls:
on foot:

W,A,D = move
space=fire gun
mousewheel up/down = scroll through guns
shift=run
"p" switch between first person and 3rd person
mouse up and down to make view go up/down (same with left and right)
enter = get in vehicle/get out


in car:

W,S,A,D = drive
shift= break (when you turn while doing this, you slide)
mouse up and down to make view go up/down (left and right DO NOT work here)

todo:
make wheels spin when driving
fix some of the car collisions
fix shooting

glitches:
if you drive a car into a wall and right before it hits it you jump out, the car will get stuck in the wall
when on foot, you can walk through cars

*Just played it. It was very good. But uh... I don't have a torso or head. Other than that it was well made. And yes I extracted.

I didn't have a torso and head (like Mr Bird).

At some point, the controls screwed up (don't know why). I could only walk forward and not turn anymore.
Also it's quite annoying that the camera turns with you when you turn and walk but doesn't when you only turn.

Cars don't control like cars. When you press right, a car is supposed to turn right when going forward AND backward, not in two different directions.
This might appear more natural to a person who never drove a car, but not for a person who did.


I like the car models and the animation though.

And was it just me, or did you go incredibly slow, or did my Geforce 9800 GTX lag

It was not only just you. The game went quite slow for me too.
However I can't tell if it was lag or if that speed was on purpose. =/

I also didn't have either torso nor head. It really sucks that you can't move backwords.

yeah not trying to be mean but the guy doing crimelife has already got the gamemaker gta clone down pretty well. maybe try something else?
