Proud to say that the new sdk update will also feature a (beta!) export feature!

... that's right! You can now share your games with everyone and anyone in an executable. Weeee~

It's awesome that you're including an export feature, it might cut down on community traffic which I think was your original reason for not having it, but more people will be willing to use MechaSource if they can make .exe's.

Can't wait to see this in action in my (hopefully) upcoming beta copy.

Keep up the good work Mecha.

Well one of the main reasons for not including an export feature was that it almost entirely disables all MechaSource community-specific features such as achievements, save data, user data, statistics etc., but due to the big request on an export feature, I've included it as an option, though I still recommend using the MechaSource Community to release games.

Maybe I'll add something inbetween: Executables with an option to login to the community, enabling the features. Hmm..

I like the idea of the community so much that I feel like it's an acceptable penalty to miss out on the cool community features if people choose to make .exe's.

The beginner interface was pretty far in progress when I woke up one morning and realized I was putting visual appeal before actual functionality. The interface felt limited and less free because it had to feel simple. It almost felt like a kids’ tool. The design was scrapped and rebuild. This time it took focus in a more raw design, much equal to that of the advanced scripting design, but with more options and selections. The concept is the same, it’s just not a kids’ tool anymore.

The materials window has also been removed. Usually I like to think ‘better more than less’, but when more is being useless and just confuses newcomers, it just isn’t worth keeping.

The beginner interface is underway and it’s turning out great. By the looks of it, I might even make it the default and leave the advanced scripting design to really hardcore programmers.
