You don't need MMF2 at all for developing a game using MechaSource. And the MechaSource Engine has inbuild physics, making a platformer is totally easy.

MechaSource can load "maps" that you can create in the MechaSource map creator. You can specify what games your maps should work for (ie., only work for Thingio). The map creator is easy to use and you can put own your own obstancles, enemies and all that in it with ease.
However the map creator isn't totally done yet so I can't show it to you, but it works almost like Valve's Hammer tool, just easier to use.

Beside, all games that are released are being checked by me before they are accepted. Games that have nothing real outstanding to them will obviously not be released.
That being said, the rules aren't so strict that it will be hard to get games accepted, you just need something outstanding and you're good to go.

Here's the achievement list for Jumpin Sheeps 2 so that you can get an idea on how many different achievements you can actually make. Which is endless.

Hey I didn't see some of those new achievements yet. The ones like "Racial Advantage", "Day Dreamer" and "What if God was one of us" really show that the player has too much time on their hands.

I'm gonna get them all cool2.gif

Will achievements generally have any effects on gameplay, or are they just there to give you something to unlock?

That all depends on that the developer makes. Yes you can make achievements affect gameplay, but it all depends on the developer.

Also Jumpin Sheeps 2 is just a tech demo that you get for free. You can look it through and gain knowledge from it. It's not an actual game.

Actually we're still discussing this, because you get the rights for the games you make, and thus, you could make it cost money. But we'd rather avoid money being tossed around in this.
Again, we need to finish this discussion before its settled.

Note that any games made by MechaWare co. will be completely free, but if a third party developer makes a game we could make it possible that he could earn on it. We're not sure on this yet, however. I doubt it will turn into anything and everything will be free (which is most likely).

Also, in order to make something like EBA, we just need a very good rhythm/BPM engine. The rest is just eyecandy, really. So I dunno if that would be easy to program.

EBA would be somewhat easy to make imo anyways.

And no, it won't support 3D as MechaSource is a 2d engine.

There won't be any videos.

And no, we don't have a release date of it yet, but we really want to have it top-secure before we release it.

That being said, we've let out demos to some people who will be developing games for the release date so that the whole place won't be empty.
