I don't really like the fact that you have to buy the games in order to paly them.

By the way, when this gets released, will it be free or will you have to buy it?

You have to buy some games if the developer really insists as such. And none are more than $10.

And no MechaSource is 100% free.

So although I haven't seen much about how the actual engine and coding works, I don't have many questions to ask. But this does seem very interesting, so I'll ask one.

Regarding achievements and customization... Will the user be able to customize the achievement pop-up window's design and feel? Will they be able to control when and where and how it will appear on screen, perhaps to fit the game more than the default?

Iunno, but having the exact same uncustomizable achievement popup for every single game in your server seems a bit boring.

yeah you might want to think about this because you dont want it to get in the way of gameplay.

If Mecha gave the example of the 95x95 image file in the first post, that was placed in "achievements/hud", so the "HUD" itself is probably customizable, too(just like everything in your game).

The only difference is that you'll customize it from outside, with another program like Paint, for example, which is much better than MMF or GM editors, anyway.

Will there be functions for things like colorization? Like, if, say, someone casted an ice spell, they would glow light blue for a few seconds.

Also, is there a room editor along with a grid function? Oh, and will isometric games be possible?

Everything in MechaSource is customizable. The achievement box you can be edited easily because it's an .png, and yes you can change the position of the achievement box. Everything is possible.

Yes, which is also shown in Jumpin Sheeps 2 where we have random colored sheeps.

MechaSource will feature a map creator where you can make maps for your game (this is completely optional, you could also make the enviroment using scripts). Your maps can be specified for one game or for multiple games (which means they can't be loaded on other games).

And about isometric games, yes it is possible, however, it might be a bit complicated.
