@HtraM: There's nothing against the rules (which I assume means they found the loophole). However, what I find iffy is that Rule #6:
| QUOTE | | 6. Each artist may only enter one entry and one picture that is THEIR OWN, ONLY. Do not post two pictures (unless one is an unfinished, unqualifying sketch and the other is the finished product), do not post two pictures back to back in one file or entry. Do not post pictures for other people, do not post pictures for people who are banned. Any extra pictures that break this rule will be removed, and if you continue you will be taken out of the competition and all pictures will be removed. If you continue further, mods and admins will take care of you from there. |
It says that each artist must enter a picture that us THEIR OWN, Only. Technically, the rules don't say anything about helping each other out. All it said was that they had to have drawn it themselves.
Also, no one else has seemed to care, so I'm guessing it's ok. Just as long as: A) One doesn't draw for the other as well (That counts as posting two pictures for one person) B) They don't work on the same picture (That doesn't make it one person's only)
I'd lay off the creditz though, just to be safe.
Anyways, my hypes: - There's really nothing to critique on, IMO. - The plain white mask clashes with the inking on everything else. It looks VERY out of place. - The brown ink looks very pale. - The color for the green looks a bit weird (it switches from light to dark to light near the bottom). - To be honest, it's just a green shy guy wearing a tie. I don't see the uniqueness in that. I'm not saying the idea is bad, It's just that it's so bland.

| QUOTE (Black Boo @ Aug 27 2008, 08:36 AM) | The green color switch was my scanner's fault. I originally had NO shading. Personally though, I like the effect of a kind of actual robe.
I gave the Shy guy a "Uniform." He's not used to the tie, so that's why he's looking at it funny.
Brown ink color, my scanner again.
I meant for it to have no shading, so the mask is going to be out of place. |
Green Shading: There must have been some form of shading. Unless your scanner is ****ed up, shading shouldn't magically appear on the page. You were probably pressing to hard in the darker spots, and too soft in the lighter spots. And the effect of a real robe requires lots of extra little lines in the robe to indicate it's sorta messy. A straight robe is very unnatural.
Uniform: A don't truly consider a green shy guy with a tie a uniform (considering it's basically the same thing), but hey, whatever floats your boat. I know why he's looking at it funny, but saying a tie is a uniform is like a pizza without any toppings (no cheese either). Then again, the definition of a uniform is:
| QUOTE | | an identifying outfit or style of dress worn by the members of a given profession, organization, or rank. |
And an outfit technically describes the robe. But bright green is a very weird school color. I know you can't change it, but something a bit darker would've been better, in my personal opinion.
Also, it's vaguely similar to the Game Guy from Mario Party, the only different being robe color and the fact that the Game Guy has a Bow tie, not a tie.
Mask Shading: Putting something out of place should be a last resort thing. A non-shaded mask will appear very flat (They're sorta rounded to my knowledge), especially with a shaded robe, which doesn't look flat.
Don't take all of this as an offense. Take it as a bit of advice, because whenever I criticize something, I'll usually give some advice.
