School Doodlings, Just stuff I draw at school.

These are just things I do with my spare time. Anyways, I think I'm getting better at drawing. Proportions are still weird (and I plan to keep them that way) but everything else seems to improve.

Some things to note:
- These pictures represent my over-creative side, where I keep on adding useless stuff onto the image.
- My head-height proportion is typically 2.5-3.5 heads tall as of late. I'm attempting to slowly increase as I draw more things. My main focus is getting better at body parts in general. After that, I'll focus on motion (eg. Walking, actions, etc.), then begin moving up on the height.

Anyways, C&C?

the anatomy is trash. youre not gonna improve if you dont try to change it even a little.

They had ears when they were bald. I just ended up covering them with hair, so they appear like they aren't there.

@Shawn: Does anatomy matter that much? I understand that anatomy is important, but anatomy isn't my focus. My main focus is trying to get basic manga body parts correct in chibi form.
Looks like I was typing too fast again. It's not that I won't change, it's just that I'll slowly increase as I improve. I've been able to get it at 4 heads tall before, but it would come out weird somethings. I figure that starting small and working my way up would make me better. Also, I'm trying to experiment, so of course they come out strange.

Lawl. It is weird. In a way, it looks like claws, and that's actually what they were suppose to look like. The boy was suppose to have some sort of dragon thing going on, but it didn't quite work.
Don't forget that I improv everything on these kinds of drawings. Nothing is planned out and I just make it up as I go.

Also, he's only 15. He draws much better than how I drew at that age :x

Here's something my art teacher once said, that you might want to remember.

When it comes to anatomy, bending the rules can add style, and personality, and that's great. But you need to know the rules before you can bend them.

This is somewhat true. However, I didn't improve by drawing realism (drawing realism didn't help me improve at ALL); instead, I improved by observing drawings I liked and copying details from them. Therefore your teacher is kinda wrong :x

These are cool. I should start posting some of my sketches and doodles here instead of always at my other forum. I draw all the time too, so I'd also agree with what's been said here.

You say that as if 15 is still a baby age.

Too be honest also, I've tried to follow correct anatomy before, but I can never get it. Anatomy is like...what?

Body = 7 heads tall
Head = 1 head
Chest = 2-2.5 heads.
Legs = 4-5 heads.

I can't even get the chest to be 2 heads tall. It's just weird looking the way I draw it. Also, you may ask me "why not follow regular anime and use stick figures first?" Uhm, because that's too much extra work and I find it a bit of a waste of time. We all have our own style of drawing. I like SSDD style (Super super deformed deformations :P. It's an extention on SD (Super Deformations) ), and you like "insert style here". I could find your style strange because you make the eyes look funny or you make your man look like it has man-boobs, or whatever. At most, I can get a 4 heads tall body, which honestly looks much more normal to me, but that's because I like to give the head a bunch of detail, because I feel it's the most important part of the body.
