I switched from IE to Firefox because IE lagged like hell and was generally pretty slow.

Internet Explorer always freezes after I close it. And the beginning takes up my time too much. And then Firefox came to my life.

IE will always be garbage compared to firefox.

guaranteed.

And Firefox doesn't support ActiveX Plugins(Important for many Webpages), IE8 is much Faster than IE7, though slightly slower than Firefox, Firefox does much better on the Acid3 Test, and Firefox doesn't support a few of the Websites that IE8 does. I think they're around equal. Firefox doesn't support some features of IE, and IE doesn't support some features of Firefox. They both have Flaws, but hopefully they'll be improved soon.

EDIT: Typo, I said many but meant a few.

Whole point of the Acid3 test is how well the browsers comply to Web Standards.

meaning, if Firefox can render a page that IE can't, Firefox is right, IE is wrong.

If IE can render a site that Firefox can't, the site is poorly built, or is one of the very few sites that IE can render better than Firefox. But it's still not really equal.
