I have not had any problems loading ANY website with firefox..

not many sites use half the things in the Acid3 test

mind you I don't think IE has passed the Acid2 one either

I never had any problems with IE. And I did with Firefox, because it's nothing more than a RAM hog, and the pages take forever to load on it, at least for me.

For comparison:

on my system Firefox eats up ~200MB of RAM, when IE only takes up around 50.

Firefox 3 doesn't. Also, IE loads sites much slower, since I had to use it downstairs awhile ago.

I don't really feel like downloading a new version of IE, since my copy of IE6 was royally ****ed up by adware, and the problems persisted when I upgraded to IE7. Because of said problems, IE on my computer sucks dick at everything because it's so slow, and Google Search on it is useless pretty much because all it does is redirect to stupid ad-related pages.

I don't think I'm ready to try IE8 yet. I'm waiting for the full release to come.

So, anyway, how did I know this was going to turn into another stupid IE vs. Firefox topic?

It's not really a Firefox vs. IE topic - Firefox 1.5 won that battle years ago cool2.gif

If anything it's embarassing that the newest version of the most popular internet browser still manages to fail where the not-so-popular ones don't. IE6 wasn't a bad browser for its time, but you'd expect IE7 to be decent. It wasn't, and neither is IE8 from the sounds of things. That's pretty bad. Especially when Microsoft are supposed to be leagues ahead of the game (I mean it's THEIR OS that IE gets the most use on!)

Anyway it's healthy to have competition. It's a shame IE doesn't really compete.
