I decided to post a demo of Terra Crashers 3 without the permission of my currently abscent friend and colaborator.
With demo I mean 'limited number of characters and levels, trying to create a hype for the final release'-demo.

So far I have 13 levels, a crap load of characters, 4 challenges, 4 shops and a secret boss.
This demo contains 3 playable levels, 6 unlocked characters and 3 locked characters, 1 challenge and 1 shop (containing one of the locked characters). That's why I'm cheap :P

But that's not all! I have a few spaces in the character select screen open and I'm out of suitable playable characters to slap in. If you want one of your characters in, fill in the following form:

Name:
Ref:
Element: (Fire, Wood, Electric, Water, Plain, Ice)
Charge Attack:
Special Attack:
Discription: (Shown when you hit the right mouse button over a character in the character select screen)

Make sure you have played at least 1 level before you fill this in, otherwise you might end up typing gibberish (though the name, ref and discription are clear enough without playing the game)

What is Terra Crashers 3? It's a sequel to the side scrolling shooter (which is unfinished. Iris still hasn't done his part) Terra Crashers 2 and the concluding part of the Terra Crashers trilogy.
Terra Crashers 3 introduces Charge Attacks for the first time. They differ among characters. You hold and release the button when fully charged to execute. And Special Attacks are still there in Terra Crashers 3. Pressing K triggers a Special Attack, which drains EP. When you lack EP, a Special Attack can't be executed (I guess that's obvious.
The Team Crashers games are side scrolling shooters, kinda like Gradius, but with humans, humanoids, robots and other creatures. Avoid hitting walls, shoot enemies for Meteo Shards (the currency in TC3) and beat the boss at the end of each level!
For those who are familiar with the Megaman BN series probably know how the element system works.
Fire>Wood>Electric>Water>Fire
In an advantage, attacks do 150% damage. Plain doesn't suffer from disadvantages, but doesn't benefit from advantages either; ideal for multi element attacks. But what does Ice do? Well... nothing special.
Fire>Ice>Wood
You can say the body element is equal to that of Wood and the attack element equal to Fire. So that means:
Ice>Ice! Crazy, I know, but quite frankly I was and still am too lazy >.>

Controls:
Map:
WASD- Move truck (AD- Steer, WS- Accelerate, Reverse)
J- Enter Area, Shop, Challenge, Event, Warp Point
K- Display character select screen. That screen is also used for data collected on bosses/ enemies/ allies and save/load data.

Character Select:
Left Button: Confirm selection
Right Button: Show playable character data

In-game:
WASD- Move
J- Shoot
K- Special Attack
L- Use Stock Item
P- Pause
Q- Quit Level

If you still have questions, the F1 button is your friend.
Beware that Esc ends the game instantly without warning.

Please enjoy playing this demo, and for those wanting to be in it (or one of their characters), I'll keep you updated in the GF forum. Please post your form there, thank you.

It's fun. That's it. Not much else to say, but this:

The level seems difficultly designed because some clumps of bricks or walls are too close together for me to shoot quick enough without getting hit.

The boss is also dificult because it has such high health and wide-spread attacks. If you were to make it shoot 1 shot at a time, then that would solve the problem.

Overall though, I like it! This could go places...

BTW, I posted in the GF forum. :P

I notice that those steel blocks can't really be destroyed. Is there a way to jump over them?

Nice engine, reminds me of Megaman Battle Network. I like it.
However, there's some few things I think you should fix.

Slow cutscenes and annoying pitch-high music. Slibbery movement for all characters. A very confusing story if you haven't played any of the other games, appearently.

...you have trouble with the first boss? Oh dear, you're not gonna live through it then.

We make it from scratch ourselves. We're proud of our crappy music.

Done on purpose. And frankly, I prefer it to the older games where dodging was way easy.

So you're just ignoring everybody elses thoughts and doing what you like?

Oh, no. We're listening to every opinion.
The thing is, this is the sixth game in the entire series. There have been other testers before you all. We know that the games are perfectly playable; you just need to get used to it.

I remember from when we made the first game, Game Crashers, when I got the first prototype of it in my hands. I sucked at a game I had designed myself (NDS does all the work, I just design 'm and make the stories).
And with every new level NDS adds I still find myself puzzling on how to keep enough HP to survive the boss.

This demo has been up for only three days. That's no time to become an expert, especially since you're lacking content that the real version has.

Well the things I posted above keeps people from continuing this game. So err.

I just now downloaded the demo version, played the first level and beat the boss in less than two minutes without using specials or chargeshots and didn't even stick to the back row. Sorry, but I cannot conclude anything than that it's not the game that is at fault, but the players.

Edit: Addendum: This is a Demo version, not a Beta version. We're not looking for improvements, though bug reports are welcome.
I believe I already mentioned that the game has been tested by other people already. For over two years, the Game Crashers and Terra Crashers games have allways been found perfectly playable by people other then ourselves.
