Not sure if this should be in the GC and it will probably end up locked AND there have probably been topics about this before, but the topic is swearing.

Do you have any real problems with it? Do you do it? Do you wish you didn't? Do you have any reasons to use it? Are there certain times where you just let it happen? Well?

Honestly, I don't. Unless it comes from little kids.
Of course, when I was little, I still didn't care after I got to the 3rd grade.
Frankly, I think a word is a word and nothing more.
But I don't swear. Not often, anyway. I try not to because if an adult heres, it only invites trouble at this age.
I say damn all the time; its in the Bible, so meh. Not used the same way I use it, but I don't care. Still don't say it around adults, though.
I'll say "*****", but only if making or retelling a joke, really.
And if I am seriously emotionally stressed, I'll let two or three F-bombs slip... It helps a lot more if you don't do it regularly.
And I don't consider "ass" a swear, but I only use it the way I use "*****".

Nor do I use it to get my point across like some people. Or start screaming swears when I am peeved with someone. I have an extensive on-the-spot vocabulary when it comes time for that.

And I understand if you have religious beliefs that make you not so fond of it(don't discuss them here); but if you don't what are your reasons, if any, that cause an uncomfortablness toward it?

Whilst on the topic of problems with words-
I do however tend to shy away from sexual slang terms... They make the body parts seem vulgar as disgusting. Where as for a man, I agree we aren't the best to look at so we shouldn't be made to sound like fresh baked apple pies, I feel women are... Softer and gentler and not deserving of such vulgar labels.
Yeah, just thought I'd say that last part.

I find swearing unnecessary, but I have absolutely no problem with people using it.

I've found that finding your way around swear words can help expand your vocabulary.

I think that, ESPECIALLY on the internet where not many people can use text as a means to thoroughly (or effectively) convey their meaning, words are words and their should be no black censor lines in our minds' dictionaries.

I use cursing, but I am more willing to put aside those "words" for an amount of time so as to appease another than to be the "right" person and cause a whole heap of trouble which will only end up hurting me.

I don't really quite care.

Some of the more racial ones I am a bit more wary of, but they are just words to me.

I just don't get why some of the lesser ones are considered "bad"

Who deems these words unacceptable to say?

shiz, shat, shet, feck, etc.

Sorry if the size is big, but I wanted it to just be effectively added to this post-
I am most curious as to why people on here, MFGG, will block or filter their words. I want to know their motives.

Not so much the joke filters, though.

I don't usually swear unless I'm very pissed. On the topic of it, people can say anything they want. As long as they don't do it in a place where younger people are gathered. I know some kids around 6-8 who swear like crazy.

Maybe I'm exaggerating, but they do swear on occasion.

Such is life, bro. ESPECIALLY on an "uneven" community such as this. You just have to learn to take your ****, be as good a person as you can be and move on with it.

Going off topic, have you played Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2? You username sounds like one of the characters in the game.

To be honest, yeah. Double standards run everywhere, but, and I am a firm believer in this, if you change yourself, the world changes around you.

I just hate when people use a swear word after every single word....

Such as....

F you F'ing with S-word and F'ing with my F'ing gosh darn car.

Or something to that effect.

It irks me when people resort to that.

Damn I use frequently
Ass I use as in "you silly ass"
Hell I use as in "hell, I don't know"
***** I use to describe troublesome women (who are angry all the time)
******* I don't really have a need to use
**** I only use in extreme stress
**** I don't use often, except under really extreme stress
Other swears such as ****, dick, etc. I don't use either. Except when I was a young boy younger, I used "Dick Johnson" (lolol clevar) as a false name to get into porn sites.

Then again, I guess we can expect this to happen in years to come. I bet by 2011, swearing will probably be a national sport or something.

Swearing is just the use of words meant in a harmful way. There is nothing wrong with them at all. People just overreact at them sometimes.

Screw you.
or
**** you.

One just uses a swear word. They both mean basically the same thing.

In other words, I don't think swearing is anything to get pissy about.

That's not exactly what I was talking about, but you're close. I'm just saying if you are in good state and just look on the bright side always, then the world around you changes into what is more "favorable".

I'm just saying what works for me and those around me. It's your life. You are correct, though, about the off-topic, so if you want to discuss this a little more in-depth, please feel free to contact me privately.
