There's seriously something wrong here.

Nearly every topic in the General Chat is "What is your favorite...", "I'm a new person here", something about some new movie, news stories, and the occasional topic about a new game.

Isn't the General Chat's span of possible topics larger than that? It sure is, but because of the existence of the CCC (and in the past PPP) people are afraid to post things in the GC and instead just post their topics that should be posted in the GC in the CCC(/PPP).

While I was in the CCC (since its creation up until earlier this month) most topics in it were General Chat material or spammy PPP **** that the CCC was supposed to remove. There were very few topics I'd say would belong in JUST the CCC. Hell, there were ton topics that should have honestly gone in another forum, not just the GC. Arts board material, Wii discussion material, Help board material, etc. What the hell?

I think the reason behind most of this is because of the CCC's very existence. The lenience there means that they can just dump their **** there without worrying about it being in the wrong forum because usually nothing gets done about it. Hell, there's been many cases in which I've dumped other board material into the CCC, I'm not just blaming others here.

In my opinion, if we made the CCC a bit more tight and moved the other board material to their respective boards and made it known that you can't just dump anything in there because of the lenience allowed by the mods because "Oh, its such a privilege to be in here, we didn't ban you for some stupid reason that was undeserved, whereas many others weren't banned for it, how lucky!" (Honestly, very few bans nowadays make much sense at all or have not been banned for before)

tldr: Post topics that go in that forum IN THAT FORUM, not the CCC.

In before some member/mod tells me I'm butthurt because I'm not a Casual anymore and therefore obviously can't say anything about the CCC!

True, a lot of topics posted in the CCC do not actually belong in the CCC, however, people still post them there, because in the General Chat, making topics consisted only of one or two sentences is frowned upon. Topics like "Damn I accidentally stepped on my dog" or "I just bought Wario Land 4!" however, aren't really GC-worthy, and the CCC makes a good dump for topics like that.

Also, I think the CCC access policy is good as it is now. 2 months isn't really that long of a time, as long as you don't get banned, which I, personally, think isn't that much of a feat. :V

Serious topics can't be discussed in GC. Religion, abortion and the whole palette. This limits the amount of GC worthy topics even more.

Reporting bad topics/posts is nice.

Complaining GC topics... not so much. Because this'll grow to a 28509 page topic full of CCC bashing and all that and stuff and the impression left is not so great.

Luckily I'm here to stop that.
