Managed to completely forget I had to do another one of these. Too busy having fun doing nothing I guess!

anyways
IN THE MONTH THAT WAS AUGUST 2008- Staff hirings. DJ Yoshiman who had put himself in MFGG exile got a position of comment mod on the main site. More text suffering to be had there. Pucifur and MegaTailzChao won the QC mod app test. The result means a completely cleaned out queue. Now we're all bored, so submit plz. I'd say it was a pretty impessive event to see a completely cleaned queue, but it's happening every few hours and the novelty's worn off.
- Community Fangame project 2 got a sub-forum. Join them in their quest to dominate the world through Mario platforming.
- The Games of the XXIX Olympiad occured. China won, America came second, but nobody actually cares about that, the real news is that Great Britain had the best games since 1908. "We kicked face", to quote myself. Next one's in London. We shall "kick more face" there. Just you wait. Bring back the empire, conquer the world.
- FLAGS. Thanks to Techokami. "My Controls -> Edit Profile Info" for those who haven't yet noticed. Just another way to boast about me being the first brit to admin MFGG (except Kyle). Because that matters. Also stops this really quite annoying idea donned by some of you that all MFGGers are American. Proof that they are not! Also IPB 2.X forums have it as standard so I've heard.
- SAGE happened. It was cool-ish. Congratulations to the MFGGers who took part. Will NCFC be better? Possibly. Once again, I want to see as many MFGG fangames on there as physcially possible so that I can bombard ShadowMan and Yoshiman with quality games engineered by the members I administrate. Kinda one of those "I'm better at admining than you" things =P
(I should probably try building more bridges to SFGHQ - kinda feels like they're out of the fangaming "loop" since M:FM and MFGG work so closely together. Or maybe we're out of their loop... they kinda started the loop...)
- CCC event. Casual Members of around that time will know about it. Thanks to Techokami again, ShadowMan *gasp* and Phage, and of course all you kids with moons in your avatars and whatever. Yes this did happen in August. August is a pretty big month.
- Submission Archives sub-forum. Self explanitory really.
- General Friendliness went Casual only. Should already know about that.
- Thunder Dragon now sits with his colourful "Founder" group icon. Bet you wished you started a Mario fangaming site in 2001 now!
- 19 bans. Fun stuff. Well okay not for them, but they shouldn't be getting banned!
- Yoshi's Island skin, courtesy of Omega. It's green. It has its own set of post icons. Post icons are good. Special thanks to myself for making screenshots and sprite sheets a skin-reality. And also Techokami that I once again had to rely on due to lack of forum FTP access *hint hint*. I even got credited in a movie for bugging him =P
- I can legally drive now. Too bad I don't have a car and/or insurance or anywhere to go.
- Wiki re-opened to the public. Now new kids can register.
- Lots of exam results came in and the education system proved that it is still a joke. But I dunno, perhaps it's not good to laugh at Es obtained due to a 4 month teacher absense. Or maybe it is, since my AS results spelt "CEED" or "DECE" or "DEEC".
- Main site's a bit more "secure". Now we can purge every last one of your comments with a click of a button. Spammers beware. WHO YOU GONNA CALL? POSTBUSTERS
- Speaking of the main site, Techokami fixed that bug where reviews weren't being calculated properly. Well okay it's still a manual thing but if you see any poorly calculated reviews, give us a call and I'll fix it.
- That Stealth guy on Sonic Retro proved that it IS possible to port Sonic 1 to the GBA without sacrificing everything that made it so great. Oh and that Knuckles and Tails can be added in too.

GAME OF THE MONTH™: AUGUST 2008July's Game of the Month™ is:
WarioWare Mou$e Workz, by Toodles Teamas recommended by Bacteriophage who I asked last minute because I forgot completely about this

Since Toodles returned this actually means a bit more. So far I think all the Game of the Months have been awarded to people who have knicked off somewhere. Yes, that means YOU Avi, Hatman etc. YOU CAN'T HIDE AT KS FOREVER. I WILL FIND YOU. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. YOU WILL ACCEPT YOUR GAME OF THE MONTHS AND CELEBRATE.
But seriously WarioWare Mou$e workz is a good game. It's WarioWare, but this time the gimmick's your computer's mouse. For those who have no experience of a WarioWare game despite the fact the series has been ported to four different Nintendo platforms, it's a collection of little minigames which you have to complete in a few seconds. If you don't, you lose a life. The game speeds up for extra challenge. And WarioWare games can be quite challenging until you understand what you need to do, seeing as you're only ever given a word or two as a clue.

As far as this WarioWare game goes, Toodles pretty much hit the nail on the head. Possibly with a mouse. Personally though I think that nail would be best hit with a hammer, but it's "mou$e workz" not "hammer works"... unless a "mou$e" is different than a "mouse". Maybe the former's more expensive or something...
Most things in it are custom made and the game itself has a lot of polish. It's also one of the only good WarioWare fangames out there, and one of the first too. Gameplay is top notch, though I think it's a bit slow (partly because IIRC things are taken from the Wii game "WarioWare smooth moves", and that needs more time to explain to users how to work a Wii Remote). Nevertheless some top stuff here and as with all Game of the Months, it's worth the download. It even has Paper Bowser World references in there!

Review Drive #11Review Drive #10 was okay. I have a feeling people forgot it was on due to the heaps of site updates we got in August. There were 17 after all. Anyway 4 reviews, thanks to ,
Draco Icebane,
the real wart,
CaptainSyrup and
Giga Gamer. Brought Super Mario World: Zombie Edition to an average score of 7.5.
anyway this month's review drive is
Wario and the Magic Map, by kjellm87something relatively new because they tend to get noticed a bit more. But as always, feel free to review any of the games on site - we can pretty much guarantee a decision within 24 hours now.

Other things to think about:
- Whether you know someone who would like to have a shot at syntax highlighting =P. It's very unlikely, but it would be nice if we could have some [C++], [C#], [GML] etc. BBCode tags. Just because it'll probably never happen otherwise.
and there's another month gone. However September is the best month. Don't forget to go shopping!
