yes. if she chooses to sell her virginity, that is her choice -- she has the power to do so, and she is exercising it. most states don't allow that freedom to their citizens.

And very rightly so.

Though "freedom" isn't exactly the ideal term, since freedom should not be thought of as meaning "permission to do pretty much whatever the hell one pleases". If that's what freedom meant, it would outright suck, and would be a destroyer of civilized society.

What she's doing isn't hurting anyone. The only person that could suffer from it is her and she chose to do it. Why should that be illegal?

Prostitution of any kind is demeaning to both parties as human beings, and reduces the immensely personal act by which human life is continued to a mere vulgarized commodity. When prostitution is legal, the grade of civil life in general goes down. If moral propriety is worthy of preservation (which I'm quite sure it is, myself), then that's a good reason for prostitution being illegal right there.

Incidentally, isn't prostitution illegal in most places already? Even in not-particularly-religious societies?

Well, it's your body. No one has the right to touch you if you don't want them to. So you can kinda do whatever you want to it. It's not like cutting your fingers off would count as a crime under "You can't just do whatever you want"

Does that mean there are no consequences for these actions? No. But you are free to actually do them.
