no theme, just pick tiles and do whatever the **** you want with them (and worry about blending later)

Yes plz. I'd join even though I don't sprite anymore.

Oh, and also, Mrs. Aforcer. Truthfully, for your first try, or one of your first, this is pretty damn awesome. I mean, spriters are going to bug you about "HURRR you use to many colors" and all that, but for a start, it's really great.
Now I don't know if you're gonna keep trying or not, but if you are then I say forget the whole color restriction thing for now, and get into the actual spriting. THEN start concerning yourself with such thoughts as limited palettes etc. etc.
