MFGG and the short sentence, ???

What is it with many members utilizing this type of sentence structure MANY MANY times? Why this one and not others?

So many times I just see one or two word "sentences" (They are basically elitist interjections to me) and, to me, it stinks the air full of alleged superiority!

EDIT: oh you mean actual full and complete sentences

they annoy me because some of the time i see someone using fully-punctuated and grammatically-correct sentences they're secretly being sarcastic or ragging on someone for a stupid reason and i can't call them out on it because i have nothing on which to give as evidence

also what with all the U shenanegans i've come to dislike it when people try to type perfectly and add exclamation marks and whatnot

because people typing happily seemed like they were only typing happily as a cover to disguise any flames and/or opinions about another member

i could go on and on but i'll stop here, to be honest this has been cheesing me off for quite some time and i can definitely think of one member who's been doing it recently

Not really, this is more what I'm getting at:

I think that style has its place but not nearly as frequently as I see it here. I just think there are so many better and more friendlier ways to say something. You know what I'm saying?

Sometimes I think short sentences add to humour.

For eg. 'lol wut.' wouldn't be funny if you said: 'I didn't understand what you said, lol'

And also, it can be used as a quick device for effect.

For eg. 'Brawl?' instead of 'Do you want to play Brawl?'

I don't really mind when people do short sentences.

I enjoy using short sentences.

They suit me.

And I often space them out.

Ah, what you are saying does make sense, and I agree with it, but what I am concerned with is people making those kinds of sentences in a (seemingly) serious tone.


There are a billion different ways to say the same thing, and either:

A) These individuals don't know how to accurately express their thoughts via a text-based internet forum

or

B) They type like that ON PURPOSE for *whatever* reason



There are many ways to give an "answer" and I just think that many individuals could go about that in a nicer and friendlier way

It's short and to the point. What more do you expect from the average human being?

In both of those examples provied by Black Squirrel and LGB, I was being facetious and sarcastic. I'm sorry [at least] you two did not "get" what I was trying to portray, but I was posting with the non-serious mindset that Starman Deluxe illustrated.

Sometimes, people will do that for humorous effect, but I do not believe that is the case all of the time. It is for that reason that I made this thread!
