If Game Maker doesn't support Object and Room Exporting/Importing, I will SCREAM! SERIOUSLY! What if you're making a game, you have a lot done, and then a Big Update for the Engine comes out? Huh? Do you want to have to manually move your Objects/Rooms to the Updated Engine? Or would you rather Export your Objects from your Edited Engine and Import them in the Updated Engine? Discuss.

I hope that I'll be able to make sprites transparent, without changing the pixelcolor in the bottom left corner.

All you really have to do is make the sprite 1px wider [edit]and move the sprite > 1px[/edit] in width and then set the origin to 1,0.

Well, yeah, I think he might know that already.

It'd probably be a lot simpler to just have a way of telling the program which color should act as transparent.

Mark said he isn't going to change the way transparency works, why are you complaining about it? Just add an extra set of lines outside of your sprite and make the canvas one pixel bigger on every side.

And as for the Object exporting, I think I remember seeing some DLL that allowed you to write out entire objects in a .txt file (you type like -create for the events and -code to type code, the form is easy) and then import them at runtime.

Don't know if thats exactly what you're looking for but check it out.

That's not always good.

In the level editor, these objects go over the border of the grid.
Example:
Object X is 17 pixels high (stands 1 pixel over the grid to the bottom)
Object Y is placed below Object X -> Object X is deleted because it is overlapped by Object Y (that is if "delete underlying" is activated, which you normally want to not place two objects on top of each other unknowingly)

Can't you just merge GM files? That will import all of your old objects, rooms, scripts, etc, into your new file.

Why would you want to import +100 objects, sprites and backgrounds just for one object?

I really wish they'd add a feature which allows you to change the palette of a sprite without making an entirely new recolored sprite.

Yes.

And if you merge stuff, won't the objects/rooms doubleup?

I've seen some scripts that do that BUT I'm unsure how fast it works since I haven't actually tried it. wink.gif

I'm gonna see if I can find it again.

I still don't know how fast it is :\

Depending on how you want to use palette swapping speed shouldn't be an issue.I don't have pro so can't test it.
I think they should increase loading and/or saving time of the files. This would really be helpful depending.

Is this a completely rectangular mask? If so, it's not good for non-rectangular sprites.

Dunno. I want to gather some Questions from the Community and send them to him, but last time I tried it was harshly rejected as "Stupid".
