Garry's Mod Matches, This week: SURPRISE SATURDAY (Nov. 22)

Alright, I know most of you guys have GMod, so let's set up some days to mess around in it. This week, let's start with something simple: TANK FIGHTAN GAEMS
You can't use a pre-made tank (aka no using the APC model from HL2 and giving it wheels or downloading a real tank), you have to make it using props in the phx pack, HL2, TF2 and/or Portal. I made a small plan guide in my spare time, but idk if it'll work right: haha I really was bored. Replace "ball bearing" with "ball socket".
Draku will probably host, he's almost always up for this. If anyone could record that would be cool. Also yes, you can make your tank in advance, this is encouraged. I'll only allow a little time to build when we start this, save your tank beforehand in Duplicator (advanced or not) and stuff. I'll give out better stats like max players and tank health later.

As for tank size... don't make it huge. Just like, Jeep or Jalopy size or something.

I'm thinking about having this soon, like this Friday or Saturday.

So does movement have to be done with things other than just no-colliding and welding our tank with a boat or jeep?

Oh **** nevermind, I can't go on Fridays, those are my "at a crappy computer" days. (wednesdays and thursdays also fall under this category, along with every other weekend, which would mean this saturday, having divorced parents sucks don't it?)

I wouldnt mind teams.

Like, it is your choice if you want to team up.

I'm thinking a tank with 2 or 3 parts.

One will drive, and one will shoot.

So there will be a person driving concentrating on where to go, and another concentrating on enemies.

Yeah, if you want to team up with someone I wouldn't mind. In fact, I kinda wrote that on the instruction sheet :V

You can do movement by making wheels with different binds to them, or spawn wheels and add a low power thruster to make it go left/right. Experiment!


Also Draku, you should probably get the Breakable tool too, or does GMod let you use tools that other people have? Because I wanna use my Advanced Duplicator and I think some people will use prop cannons.

Also just in case some people don't know how to build bases:

On the left is a basic base. Wheels go with 8 and 2 and the thruster moves with 4 and 6. The thrusters let you steer left and right. However, on the right I built a better base. Hold a platform up a nice, low height and freeze it, add hoverballs (but remove the binds on them!), a turbine on the lower right side of it with 4 and 6 for left/right, and a turbine on back for forward/back (8 and 2), and unfreeze. Congratulations, you built a hovertank. I'm strongly suggesting the hover one, because while the one on the left looks kinda cool, it could be tough to control (I had to "Keep Upright" it so it wouldn't spin in the air.). The hovertank is MUCH easier to build and control.

i have wiremod so adv duper should work and prop cannons can be made manually in normal gmod anyways

Oh and I recommend that mod that lets you give objects health and makes them explode when that health is depleted, people use it for Space sims and stuff.
