This is my first try at custom spriting so... how'd I do?

I can't even tell what most of this is. I mean, you do know that the rules say it has to be a power up the Mario bros have had, right? The only one I see that would count is the invisible one.

Also, that start, and Cheep Cheep look like edits.

I tried to make the star look different from other star but now that im done i agree with you. The do look the same but I cant get it to look different. Oh well.

But how was the toad itself? Was it ok?
Also, I tried the wing cap, toonki suit and raccoon leaf but none of them work well on toad since he already has hat-thing. Any ideas how that might work?
doesn't the boo, metal cap, mini and goomba shoe(nevrmind thats not a powerup) count aswell? There was a superball powerup from SML2 in it but that didn't work out so well...

It's not actually, since it's the shadow of the Glooper landing on it.

Oh and black boo: I dont think that your not gonna win. I personally think that yours is the best so far. I completly love your sprites and I don't understand why you've never won a compo before (or maybe you have but you dont have a badge for it)
