But that doesn't have anything to do with the actual program.

It kind of does because Game Maker isn't as powerful as most other popular programming tools. The game proves that despite this fact, it can still be used to make a good game.

It's powerful enough to do what it was intended to do. Sure, maybe it isn't as powerful as MMF2, but with dll's, it's a pretty tight competition. Half the problem is lazy or inexperienced programmers.

I tried out Dwarf Fortress but I found it to hard to follow. The graphics really turned me off, as well.

Thinking more about it, I see where you're coming from. It really does depend on the programmer. As such, a large portion of GM users are beginners, so a large portion of GM games are beginner-quality. There are plenty of advanced Game Makerers, of course, so I guess game quality shouldn't be based on game-making program.

Regardless Ark 22 is pretty tight.

The Underside is the only one I can think of right now. Oh wait, that game Sumatori Dreams is pretty awesome.

**** yeah Sumotori. The game might suck but it's great for a laugh.

Oh, yeah, I can really recommend Jumper and Jumper 2 though. 3 wasn't too great.
