Yeah but back way when in ye olden times people were also nicer and didn't have to deal with people such as, rapists, cereal killers, and ... other people like that

Nowadays people are in great danger, even in public, of having someone assault/harass them (Especially in the cities.)

Unless you just sit at home all the time and do nothing, then I totally understand why you wouldn't need a cellphone

On topic sorta: I have a cellphone, and nobody irritates me with constant calls. Why? I don't give my number out to lotsa people, or text message that much. Only to family and close friends, do I give my number.

Italicized(spelling?) part is italicized because lots of people with cellphones CAN'T UNDERSTAND THIS. I know somebody who racked up more than $100 of texts and picture texts in a month. Speaking of which, text messaging, the way it's used today, has been rendered pretty redundant when you could just call them. Well, there's my over-italicized rant about text-messaging and giving out thoust number. DON'T DO DRUGS KIDS

but really a cellphone is an amazing convenience (granted I only use it to call my parents to pick me up but still, nice to have a way of talking with them if something happens)

and didn't have a mobilephone

and he died because he couldn't contact anyone. Fail.

There are a few exceptions where this doesn't apply. One of my good friends can't call me, because it's long distance and calls too much. However, the texts cost much less, so we can text, and it won't run up the bill like calling would.

It's pretty useful if you want to talk to your friends in class without the teacher knowing

Well, I said "pretty much", not "absolutely". So that can be an example that falls into the "Exceptions" catergory. However, where I live, people text when someone is RIGHT NEXT to them.

I don't need a cell simply because I rarely make phone calls. If I do have to, though, I just use the house or the public phone.

Funny thing is, my brother lost his cell phone about a week ago and now my grandma is going to buy him a new one.

Most facilities or buildings have some phone available, so I usually do not have much trouble finding ways to communicate when the situation is dire.

I do realize that cell phones are becoming a necessity in today's busy and dangerous world, but I rely very little on them because I have alternatives means of communication.

Ha ha, I've seen that happen. I think they do it for laughs.

The only people that were "b'awing,' were, in fact, kids younger than me.

Also, the fact they're "little" oftentimes means they "b'aw" because their parents won't buy things for them, which I think is silly, irresponsible, and unrealistic. Now if some kid were to say something along the lines "I got a job, and it's really hard to pay for my cell phone bill, so I'm sad," then I'd be totally cool with that. AT least then they're not blaming problems they could fix themselves on their parents, who work hard enough as is (I assume) to just give their kids a somewhat happy life.

But it's the fact most kids expect their parents to buy stuff for them (as if it's some sort of obligation for parents to buy their children superfluous electronics) that disappoints me and brings me out to say such things. And I have yet to see anyone prove my assertion about "little kids" wrong, anyways.
