QUOTE (Mrs. Aforcer @ Oct 10 2008, 05:31 PM)
The only people that were "b'awing,' were, in fact, kids younger than me.

Also, the fact they're "little" oftentimes means they "b'aw" because their parents won't buy things for them, which I think is silly, irresponsible, and unrealistic. Now if some kid were to say something along the lines "I got a job, and it's really hard to pay for my cell phone bill, so I'm sad," then I'd be totally cool with that. AT least then they're not blaming problems they could fix themselves on their parents, who work hard enough as is (I assume) to just give their kids a somewhat happy life.

But it's the fact most kids expect their parents to buy stuff for them (as if it's some sort of obligation for parents to buy their children superfluous electronics) that disappoints me and brings me out to say such things. And I have yet to see anyone prove my assertion about "little kids" wrong, anyways.

Any one up to doing so?

It's not, bro.

I can understand your point. I think it's pretty stupid for some ten-year-old child to baawww because his parents won't buy him a cell phone when every other kid in his class has one.

There's a remedy for that. It's called an asswhooping.

Because you posted a retarded example to support your position on cell phones.

Just imagine how people got through life before cellular devices existed.

protip: You do not need a ****ing phone to survive.

falling in a pit is an accident

you know?

accidents?

like situations that happen without warning?

what if your arm broke? yeah have a good time climbing out while others with cell phones dial 911

also, just imagine how people survived 200/100 years ago with no internet, cars, electricity and other conveniences

protip: you don't need a ****ing phone or other things to survive, but they sure do make your life easier

They survived just fine. Look at the Amish people who do not use electricity or cars. They make a living by growing and selling their own crops. That's some piss-poor reasoning, dude.

QUOTE

Not really. My grandparents got along just fine without a cell phone, and I rarely depend on cell phones because I try to prevent or avoid such situations or conflicts from occuring.

QUOTE

I find this to be funny because your "argument" was extremely poor and does not convince me to get a cell phone. Again, you posted the pit scenario, which is very uncommon and does not happen everyday in the severity that you meant.

1. yeah damn that unlucky driver who had an accident because it was dark and she got hit by another driver who wasn't being careful; just because you're careful doesn't mean nothing bad will ever happen to you

2. yeah they survived just fine. nice to see you agree with me on that while we have tons of tech today to help us out we don't really "need" it

3. protip: you don't need a ****ing phone or other things to survive, but they sure do make your life easier

4. i'm not a phone salseman, i wasn't trying to get you to buy one

lots of accidents and danger scenarios are uncommon; that doesn't mean we shouldn't prepare for them

so i don't need a cellphone because falling into a pit is unlikely, does that mean we should remove the medkits from my classroom because the chance of a earthquake happening is unlikely too?

just wait until someone tries to assault you when you don't have a cell-phone, then you'll be sorry dude

the only reason we're trying to convince you about this is because a.) we're worried about your safety here, and b.) you're not giving any other reasons as to not liking cell-phones besides "hurr I don't need one becuz hoem fone" which sounds extremely arrogant

Well, you're certainly trying to prove how necessary they are in today's modern age!

QUOTE

True, but cell phones aren't always

QUOTE

Medical kits are needed for the safety of students in case of an emergency (ex: earthquakes, fires, tonados, etc.) Cell phones are banned in most public schools because students tend to send text message or get a call during the educational process, causing disruption and a lack of learning. The cons outweigh the pros in that particular environment.

Yes, cell phones are handy dandy tools to have socially and in the case of an emergency, but you aren't going to die a horrible death if you do not possess one.

i hope you realize that you're pretty terrible at arguing.

Not the use of the words "other driver wasn't careful." This could include drunk driving - upon which if the guys too drunk to be driving, and you're in his way, and something goes wrong completely on his end, like he goes through a red light while you've got a perfectly safe and legal green light - you're screwed, even though you were doing everything as safely as possible.

You are blowing the issue out of proportion. It's just my personal preference. Ignore me and move on with the thread, or I'll report you for violating the stupidity rule.
