So I got my first cell phone

1. hurr even with headlights on you can get into an accident, not every accident is avoidable and other non-accident things like holdups can happen

2. pleasurably easy? okay now go without your consoles or computer for a week

3. they pretty much are; good luck trying to communicate in a situation like an earthquake or power outage when the lines are down

4. but why bother if the chance of an accident is pretty low?

5. car accident, parents are unconscious and bleeding, no one has a phone (whoops!)

hiking, i trip and break my leg, can't call for help (whoops!)

school tornado, trapped under rubble + no phone {whoops!)

6. tl;dr: go back to arguing school

A.) I'm not stupid,
B.) I was trying to help you, believe it or not! And,

I recently got my middle sister's phone. I used to hate them but I dunno maybe they'll be useful and get me out of dangerous situations or hope clarify things without having to walk all the way back to ask someone something.

Why can't everyone just agree that mobiles are helpful if something unexpected happens? I can think of many realistic situations where a cell phone would be handy: telling a parent you're going to a friends house, informing someone that something has been delayed ("We can't go to the 5:30 show, but there's a 7:00 session on") or you can't get somewhere on time ("Sorry, but there's been an accident on the route to *destination*, I won't be there until 7:30"), or being alerted to this kind of thing.

Of course if you're not the sort go goes out much then you probably won't use phones for these purposes (I am NOT taking a stab at anyone here).

Let me guess - Nokia?
