As this is also a game I'll post changes and updates for the game in this topic rather than the MechaSource one to avoid spam.

The storyline takes place before the original Portal game, and will cover up Chell's history as well as Aperture Science's history. We won't spoil too much of it, so you'll have to wait for the game to get the full story. We're using resources from several media such as Portal itself and the Portal easter egg homepage.

The game will feature multiplayer parts where you'll need to team up with another test rabbit in order to survive. However, as things look now, the multiplayer part will be an additional feature and not a part of the main gameplay.

We're also looking into bringing a new concept into the Portals. At first we thought that it'd be useful if the Portals could also bend time, however, that appeared to be very useless and confusing. So if you have any idea of new concepts we could bring into the Portals, we'll gladly listen.

Really, REALLY early character design. Is missing pony tail and stuff, and it'll most likely be completely redone.

You could probally have other "versions" of the Portal Gun, like in ZPortal.

If you don't feel like clicking the link, there's a Portal Gun that you stick to it's portals and teleport between them every few seconds, and there's another which shoots a slow "red" portal that you can come out at anytime, but it can't exist on anything but air.

That seems too based on refleces and randomness, and not only that, but it'd require puzzles to be very complex because you can pretty much wrap anywhere in the air.

When I said 4 portals I meant 2 portal guns belonging to 2 players. So it'd allow some insane riddles to be made.

OH and if you have any ideas for stage riddles, I'll totally add them! Don't make them too hard or too easy, though! Both 1 player and 2 player maps are allowed.

Because doing the actual Portal in 2d is easy - just a system of re-positioning the object.


What I had troubles with was actually showing the character going through the Portal, rather than just "teleporting" them.

Co-op Portal? Alright.

Player one has to push a button so palyer two can put an apature science cube on a switch. The button is in a different room, so you have to shoot it through a small window. When you enter the room it is covered with portal proof walls. Player one pushes button so player 2 can open the door. Player two goes into the next room where that energy ball that moves up and down (forgot the name) is. Player two has to re direct the ball into a switch which will open a door for player one to come out of. Continue to the next room.


Did I do it right?

Yeah. It just doesn't work with larger objects (but you're not supposed to push those through Portals anyways) but yeah it works.
