If you think his new one, in and of itself, is among the top 5 in quality, then voting for it is fine.

But if you're just doing it to make a statement about the disqualification, without regard to the entries' quality, then that vote of yours shouldn't count.

@Thingy: Some of them don't just have it "in places". They're outright recolors.

And it doesn't matter if not all of them are recolors/edits; the fact that some of them are, and that he tried to pass them off as his own, is reason enough for his disqualification.

For the love of Pete, just drop it already. I can't believe anyone is complaining about this particular disqualification. It's a very clear-cut matter.

Very few differences when I looked at it.

Basically, what he did was look at the YI sprites and make duplicates, that have very slightly different designs, but the overall idea of how they look and how they're shaded is exactly the same.
They may not be exactly same, but if they almost look like they are unless you zoom in and pick out the differences, there's a problem.

They don't have to be exact recolors to be copied.
