Before you post here, please read the story concept in the stickies:

We have Bowser and Captain Syrup, probably one of them showing up as a boss in the first level already.


Suggest a couple of worlds (at least six) which our heroes have to travel through to reach the end and you might include bonus worlds.

Name important stuff of your worlds that would be visible on the global world-map (which kirbyhi5 will draw later).


Example:
Grasslands -> has a little village in the middle (Toadtown?)
Forest -> Includes a very high tree
Underwater -> shipwreck
Yoshi's Island -> looks similar to SNES Yoshi's island
Sky World -> a vine leads to it
Bowser's Lavaland -> shows the united fleets of Bowser and Syrup.

Note: Each of those "scenery suggestions" (like 'very high tree') *must* also play a significant role in the gameplay (aka at least one level based on it), otherwise there'd be no point in mentioning it.

Suggest your own and discuss suggestions of others, if possible base yours on previously mentioned suggestions to get an agreement sooner or later.

An Ice World that could be at a top of a high mountain in Yoshi's Island.

Or it could be merged with the Sky World.

I guess this layout could work:

Toad Town- Grasslands, town, sewers, maybe even some kinda carnival, and it ends at Peach's (not sure if Peach is kidnapped in the game. If not, then she can tell the bros. about whats happening.
Icon- A town with a castle in the middle. The castle and some houses close to it are gold.

The Bro's follow a toad's (toadsworth?) lead about seeing some koopa's heading to the desert with machine parts.

Desert- Spreads across barren wastelands, canyons, and maybe even a train?
Icon- Sand, cactus and a canyon, also a trian if it works in.

In the desert, the four find a mysterious temple with tall pillars with color coded doors.

Trial Ruins- A special world at the edge of the desert. Each level will be designed for one of the four bros. So here, you can't pick the bro, you play as all.

If the above idea doesn't work, then the Trial Ruins can be made up of puzzles. Switches and such that do all sorts of things like freeze watter and make blocks appear. Or maybe both ideas can be used.
Icon- 4 Tall pillars with a temple in the middle.

After besting the temple, a final door opens that leads to a tropical beach.

Ocean- starts with a few levels on islands and such, then, mid-world you go across a fleet of Syrup's ships and in the end, take down a big one which brings you under water for the next few levels, and if you go back to the ship fleet level, it'll be the same layout, but underwater, maybe with secrets. (Like the teapot level in Wario Land where after you beat it, it changes forever.)
Icon- Ocean with a ship and a cheep cheep, and bubbles rising up under the water

Yoshi's Island- All kinds of stuff. Jungle, rivers, Raven Ruins, mountains,ice and caves. The last level/boss being on a mountain top area.

From the mountain tops, the bros. climb the clouds

Sky- Traditional clouds and giant mushrooms. It ends with a doomship invasion and the boss battle on the larges ship.
Icon- Clouds with mushrooms popping up in them.

The ship goes down into a large wooded area

Boo's Hide out- Forest levels along with a graveyard (The end of the graveyard, you, at one point, hop into an open grave and go through an underground maze that ends at a door. The door leads to a basement to a haunted mansion. Each floor of the mansion is another level, leading to the attic where the boss waits.
Icon-A mansion with a forest around it and boos overhead.

In the attic is a warpipe with bowser's icon on it.

Bowser's Sea of Flames- A large area covered in lava and volcanos. There are a few areas with islands, some fleets of ships, both floating and flying, and finally, bowsers castle that has been built up onto Syrups boat, making it a floating fortress.
Icon- Lava with small ships and Bowsers Floating fortress in the middle.

Grass, Boss: Bowser/Syrup
Desert, Boss: Dragelton(by SGG)
Ocean/Syrup fleet, Boss: Cortez?
Yoshi's Island/Mountain, Boss: Bowser Jr.
Ice, Boss: Chief Chilly
Sky, Boss: Lakigeist (by Dex)
Space Boss: Tatanga probably.
Bowser's Galaxy: Having a base in space gives Bowser easier use and range in for the Midas Machine. Boss: Bowser/Syrup/Bros.

I think these things through.

Needs to be a haunted house level with King boo as the boss and Lakigeist as the miniboss.
Also, have a haunted house with a spooky forest around it be the icon of that world.

A swamp world with: well... a big swamp in it
Maybe a mountain world with plateaus and the top of the mountains could have ice on them. The boss battle could also happen on the top of a mountain.

I'd say there should be an ocean world with both underwater and dry land levels. One level should be where you have to take on a fleet of Syrup's pirate ships. (the map would show the ships floating on the water) Also, there could be an underwater stage where you have to fight a submarine driven by the pirates. (you'd probably have to be Waluigi for that battle)

The sky world could have a level where you have take on a fleet of Bowser's airships. (the map would simply show some airships above the clouds)

There should definitly be a world with dark mountains and a green-colored ocean in the middle. I'm thinking something along the lines of Kremcroc Industries, Inc. from DKC. The Midas Machine could be perched on a cliff opposite the starting area, with Bowser's Castle hidden in the horizon. Dark, stormy clouds line the sky, and a rather depressing beach lies underneath. Obviously, the Midas Machine will be taken down here. A Bob-Omb producing factory also sits on the base of a cliff.

Just an idea...

Actually, the characters are supposed to be together all the time. And they can't be together when their ways split up.


Attention:
I have summed up most of the ideas in this topic into this nice list here.
Now I would like you to comment on them, say which ones you want, which ones you don't want and in which order the ones you want should be.
You can also suggest new "bonus" worlds that are not necessary to complete the game (like the Trial Ruins down there)
You can also suggest new worlds, but give a reason why they would be needed!

Regular Worlds
Ice World
Yoshi's Island

Deserts, wasteland, canyons, train?
Ocean, Syrup's ships, underwater, islands
Sky, Bowser's doomships
Ghost World, graveyard, mansion

Industry-spoiled World

Special Worlds
(Trial Ruins)


My own idea:
World 1: Toad Town (Mario Bros.) respectively Deserts (Wario Bros.)
Depending on which start you choose (we have considered starting as either the Wario Bros. or the Mario Bros. and have them meet in World 2), you get to play in one of those two worlds. Don't worry, you won't be able to play through all levels of the world on this first occasion and can get back to these worlds at any time later (when your team is complete)
At the end you fight Bowser/Syrup

World 2a: Ice World
You can skip this world, but you will need an artifact from here to proceed later in the game.

World 3a: Ghost World
After Ice World, you reach Ghost World where the artifact lies.

World 2b: Jungle
You need to traverse the jungle in order to reach the ocean.

World 3b: Ocean World
On the way to Yoshi's Island you need to traverse the Ocean.

World 4: Yoshi's Island, Spoiled by Industry
You see, I combined the two ideas here. A plain Yoshi's Island world would probably be too boring. Since in my model the Yoshi's Island World is directly below the sky on the map, it makes sense that the Island is the spoiled place.

World 5: Sky World
The Midas Machine is located here. Storyline ends after this one



If you agree with this idea, good.
If you have a better one, post it.
I will sum up the best of those in a new topic and create a Poll.

The game ends here. Of course, you will have the chance to continue playing, but the Storyline is over at this point. The rest is kinda free-roaming and getting 100% and the likes. Like in SMW when you could still return to the game after beating Bowser, but try to find all the exits.

Ok, "a" relates to Mario Bros. specific levels, and "b" for the Wario Bros.

1a. Mario's House, Toad Town, Grassland, Sewers, etc.
Mario's house is a good starting point in the game, because it allows you to make a tutorial level, that being the level that takes you to Toad Town. Then you get to Toad Town, crazy stuff happens, you go through some levels, you fight Bowser, and move on.

1b. Wario's Castle, Grassland
I'm getting the castle idea Wario Land 2, and I think the story for the Wario Bros. should start in a similar way. The tutorial level could be inside the castle (which, of course, would be completely redesigned from WL2), and the story can start after Wario and Waluigi find Captain Syrup stealing something from them (maybe the power source for the Midas Machine, who knows?).

That's a start, I might make the rest later.

I like the list, but I think the ice world should just be in the mountains of Yoshi's island, or on a mountain top at the start of the sky world.

I think the second world should be a desert with ruins and pyramids and such.

Ever heard of huge vines leading to the sky?

To make it more clear:
Wario and Waluigi start in this second world because they were looking for treasure there (probably for the same artifact that Syrup was searching for).
They might fight against Bowser at the end of their first world, while Mario and Luigi fight Syrup (which would be the reason why they [MBros and WBros] team up)

Both Mario Bros. AND Wario Bros. would only play a very small portion (less than 50%) of their respective starting worlds, so there's enough left to be played when the other two bros. join.
