Animal Crossing: City Folk

I am thinking of trying Animal Crossing the first time for Christmas. Could somebody tell me if it is fast pace or slow pace game. Plus could someone tell me an "Animal Crossing is like (insert game title)" response. I've heard it's like Sims but I never played it either.

I would say it's more like Harvest Moon, but without all that farming thing (well, at least just basic flower and fruit stuff). Something nice in it is that there is some events on it including christmas and stuff, and also the season transition, but basically you won't see new things everyday. It's something you'll play once in a while, and not as much as any other regular game, since you'll basically just check Nook's and Able Sister's store everyday and take out the weeds from you town.


Let's say the Wii one looks a little more interesting since looks like the city features has some often updates and cool (probably online) features.

Slow paced.

And its just a socialization game, however so different you cant compare it to other things.

Don't waste your time, ask for something good like De Blob, or World of Goo

If you've never played it before, AC is pretty fun.

But you've never played it so how can you judge it

Reviews saying it's the exact same thing as WW, screenshots showing no improvements with the graphical style whatsoever, boring looking features that don't add to the game at all (And judging by recent reviews, actually subtract from it), ect.

But you're right I should really try it out before I judge it, which is why I'll be downloading it (For free) this weekend to see if I like it (Which I doubt). I don't want to waste money on something I know that I'll most likely hate.

You can skip time by going to the option settings and changed the day. That is what I do every time I am done with the day.

You really shouldn't base your opinion of a game on reviews, especially after what happened in the Wii Music topic.

Reviews are one persons point of view, and apparently more than one person exists in the world so Reviews are pretty damn pointless.

what sitanel said. also, it appears to me that most reviewers DONT EVEN PLAY THE GAMES THEY REVIEW. they often judge on appearances. no **** theyll give a wii game a bad score.

It's been that way since the original. We all know it by now.

what the hell do you need to do to make nook upgrade his store

I've read somewhere you have to pay him off at least twice for your house. I was buying a lot of **** from him and he hasn't upgraded in my town too, so I checked some other forums. So, yeah. Pay off your debt.

I pre-ordered and bought it, whenever you play with the clock it screws up your hair, and I have a Mii mask anyways, and I don't fast foward.
