Animal Crossing: City Folk

uhh, Nook has a little ATM-esque machine in the corner of his store. It'll tell you how many Nook points or whatever you have and how many you need until your membership "upgrades". I think the upgrade for your membership depends on the number of points you have and what is required.

I've also read that you have to spend 25,000 bells in his store to get the first upgrade.

He upgrades when it isn't a holiday. November has the mushroom thing going on, which counts as a holiday. If you got upgraded, you most likely time traveled!

Kinda hard to play with the incredibly long load-times... I guess this is the price I pay for not wanting to buy it and force the update to remove my homebrew :X

UNLESS SOMEONE KNOWS A SPECIAL KINDA WAY AROUND IT!

Actually he upgraded his place in my town this month after I paid off my first loan before I started time traveling. And all the times I time traveled after that were only to different points in November to harvest mushrooms and he still upgraded to his third stage.

I'm hearing all different things about Tom nook upgrading his store.

1. After you spend 25,000 bells at his shop.
2. November is a "holiday."
3. After you spend 25,000 bells and have at least ten residents in your town.
4. Pay off your second debt.

My answers for these:
1. It's a lie. I've spend over 31,100 bells so far in his shop (This is the number I get when I minus 3D from my total points in his store. [D represents number of days which in this case is 6]).

2-4. Have yet to solve.

Well, it's possible that it isn't a lie. Since November's a holiday, Nook isn't updating because of it.

my nook never upgraded until i got 10 animals in my town

i also spent 50k at the store and payed my 2nd mortgage but those seem irelevant

I got a message on my bulletin board today saying that his store will be close Nov. 24th for upgrades.
It's been long after since I've spent 25,000 in his store.
There's still only nine people in my town.
It's still November.
I still haven't paid off my second debt.

All the theories I knew seem to be wrong.

Same here.

He was supposed to be closed today, but I skipped forward a day to buy an axe and clear some trees, saved, and rewound.
His store stayed open as the new Nook n' Go.

That is a handy little trick.

I bought it and the update didnt remove my homebrew. It just prevents you from being able to install the homebrew channel again if you happen to delete it.

Designing with the Wii remote sucks. D: Let me use directional buttons to place pixels.

I haven't tried this myself yet but I read somewhere that you can play the game with a classic controller as well. Maybe you can use the directional pad on that?

If not did you notice the zoom tool? That's helped me a little at least (not as much as a d-pad would but still).

When I started Animal Crossing with it, though, it said that the "extension controller" (classic controller) was not compatible.

You can't use the classic controller.

Only Wiimote and Wiimote + Nunchuck.

I discovered a small easter egg. On Halloween (yes, I time traveled for money), you know how you can get jack in the boxes? Well, if you sell one to Nook, he will give you 1031 bells.
1031 = 10/31 Halloween
Just something I thought was kind of cool.
