What would you like to see in a beat 'em up?

Just need to think of things, as I am trying to get this game as good as I can!

Cool weapons, f' example.

Jumping, dad&me like movement.

Combos

A multiplayer mode.

So basically like any other beat 'em up, except clunkier?

Fractal bullet patterns.

Giant bosses that you need to take down, appendage by appendage.

This one ***** at my school so I can team up with friends on co-op and kick her ass.

A punch so powerful that the punched sprite gets blown off-window.
Dunno how hard it'd be to implement, but it'd be a super radical experience for the player.

At least one super move that takes off a chunk of your health every time you use it.

I mean, so you can move up and down. Not just left and right.

every single beat em up EVER does this

Then I am pleased.

Also the ability to taunt is always nice and pleasing.

I think Mr. Bird means you can move on the x axis, and move up and down on the x axis, if that makes sense. It's hard to explain without pictures, but I can't be arsed drawing one.

Anyway, have a custom char maker, a la Mii on MKWii, or like Royale II

that's the Y axis

no, the y-axis is literally moving up. What I mean is that he's still on the floor, but can kind of move to the background or foreground.
