About the whole coffee issue I'm still wondering how it reduces the risk of cancer and if it's directly linked to reduction in cell growth. In that case this is about the same as any chemical capable of doing that.

If it actually has some magical alkaloid in it that reduces the chance of cancerous cells I'm interested.

I'm sure the breast size change is a smudge higher than negligible so the paper could have some results; aesthetically I'm gonna guess it definitely is negligible.

Okay awesum, I probably came across as a jerk so for that I give you an Internet apology!

But yeah like you said this study is as kickass as it is intriguing.

Honestly, it makes me wonder what in the coffee causes breasts to do this.

Because I hate coffee, but I wonder if my nonstop, obsessive consumption of just caffeine in general has instigated a similar effect in myself.

Or at least I hope it has. I can't say I'm quite as well endowed as my other female constituents. I don't want a rack like my mother's. I'm rather fond of being a member of the IBTC.

idk but it's not the caffeine that does it (from these findings anywayz)

Without even reading :p I'm guessing it's because caffeine increases metabolism, which means you need more calories. If you're still growing and don't get enough calories your growth will be stunted...
Caffeine can lead to weight loss...less fat. Breast cancer attacks the fat cells, that's why women get it more often than men, more fat in that area(hurray for fat chests).

Soy contains things that can convert to estrogen in the body...it won't stop men producing sperm, but it can possibly lead to things like weight gain, mood changes and maybe muscle loss. Also estrogen is thought to be 1 of the main controllers of closing growth plates in bones, thats why girls usually stop growing earlier than guys, because they have a higher estrogen to testosterone ratio.
There was an experiment on baby chimps(I think it was chimps) and the 1s fed with soy milk instead of breast milk grew much slower. Also, asians are generally shorter...Soy is a very big part of their diet, could be a reason.

edit: I read it, it doesn't mention anything about why...assuming the coffees not decaf then I'm gonna go with my theory as what they mean =x

I don't care if a woman has big breasts, small breasts, no breast or even inverted breasts. I do prefer women who are alive and well.
I say yes to female coffee consumption.

If only it lead to smaller breasts in men...

so coffee does affect the metabolism for women with the gene in question, but it's not necessarily the caffeine.
