The leaf seems better now, but I found a huge collision glitch; when you run into a wall from the right you teleport to the top solid. :o

It's not "teleporting," but in fact something wrong with my collision script. I had to make the limit 32, and if you run into a wall 32 pixels or lower in height, you go to the top. =o

How about you count all of the times I used "sprite_index" in my code, then tell me.

Seriously, while it does help a bit, it's pretty much not helpful.

Ooh, I found another glitch! When there is a coin overhead (16 pixels above) you cannot jump.

I actually noticed that occasionally Mario can't jump. That was the reason I couldn't get the Goomba to work. Now I changed the jump checking from "not keyboard_check(ord('Z'))" to "keyboard_check_released(ord('Z'))" and it seems to be working.

Of course, you won't see the change until the next version. cool2.gif

Updated! Added water, flip blocks, goomba, and switch blocks.

Please be aware that there is a glitch where the goomba becomes invisible once it gets off the screen. I'm currently trying to fix this problem.

I found quite a few glitches in this update. >_>

1. Throwing fireballs into the ! blocks, the fireballs get stuck.
2. Running (possibly walking) into the side of the on/off blocks you teleport to the top of the block.
3. Throwing hammers outside the top of the screen they disappear. (Easily foxed by this code: if y > room_height (destroy code). In the outside room code).
4. As racoon Mario, using your tail attack while standing still, you do not spin, but just simply stand facing forward.
5. And that goomba glitch you mentioned.

Otherwise, a nice update, I like the on/off blocks a lot, do not give up on them!

well it's much better than it was when i first played it

BUT:

1. the variable jumping and swimming are hard to control, because it feels like mario's being jerked downward or upward (respectively) if you hold the jump button for short periods of time; i was expecting something a little smoother

2. mario can still throw hammers or fireballs while he's ducking; unless i'm really out of it right now i don't think that was ever possible

3. the flip blocks spin for... a really long time

I'll halve the flip spinning time, and try to smooth out the jumping/swimming.

Also, I'll try and fix the collision_free function.

Hammers and Fire Balls... I'll try and fix this as well.

Bro you might want to compare previous y variables when doing the collision with goombas. Its going to calculate one, and set you vertical speed to negative for the bouncing effect and when the second goombas code goes through the game thinks you came from under it and kills you.

Btw can i have the specs for the water movement, like gravity and horizontal speed influence? i really like your precision and want to use it. It acts as if Mario really dence, but his shear arm power allows him to swim.

mario's gravity shouldnt be so high in the water because if you play mario games, the gravity is slow and also the fatter the person is, the lower gravity they have it water, because the fat acts air air pockets or whatever

plus when you swim up, you shouldnt swim up so high
