They can decompile EVERYTHING in the EXE. Sprites, Sounds, Backgrounds, Icons(I think), Objects, Object Programming, EVERYTHING.

Are we just going to release myths?

Myth's by definition are made up stories.

Rumors by definition are things said that aren't necessarily true, but may be true.

What I posted technically is a rumor.
I wouldn't say anything else is a myth on there.

Use ENIGMA, or something that isn't GM.

You can get the source from any game made with Game Maker. Well almost any, only one I found so far was SSB NES.

haha I'll add a new one

MYTH: Is it possible to protect yourself from GM decompilers?
ANSWER: Yes, there is, via the GM Obfuscator -- this handy program makes your code unreadable, yet it still operates properly. This should only be used once you finish the game, and create an *.exe of it. Never do this to the source file, because the process is irreversible.

I'm surprised most people don't know about this :\

until someone writes a program that can simplify obfuscation enough to make the source at least comprehendable again

Not possible, because it won't know the object/resources true name, unless the player renames it.

Small things, like the extra amount of spacing or comments can be removed. But that does not help too much.
