People seemed to like this in the CCC, so here's the second stage. Basically, this is a topic where you can post decent beatmaps, your high scores that you want people to beat, and your achievements that you want to show MFGG.

What's Osu! you ask? It's a free online rhythm game that you can download by clicking here. You download additional beatmaps, and click to the rhythm of the song. The best way to see what it is is by actually playing it because it's quite hard to describe. It's also very addictive...

So yeah, show off your skills or whatever. I'll put up some challenges in the next few days just to start everything off. Also, if you've made a beatmap and you want people to have a go at it, I'll post it up if you ask.

Challenges

An underlined S represents a platinum one, and one not underlined S is a golden one. If a challenge says '(Mod)', it means that a mod has been used to influence the score, for example flashlight or double time. To activate mods, press F1 on the song selection menu.

Melt [Easy] by tom800510 - 349,222 Rank S by Starman Deluxe
Boulevard of Broken Dreams [Easy] by kingcobra 52 - 487,731 Rank S by Starman Deluxe
Melt [Normal] by tom800510 - 2,137,300 Rank A by Starman Deluxe

If you want to put up a challenge, either PM me or just post here (PM is probably better). It must include the following.

Name of song
Difficulty
Name of creator
Score
Date set
Highest online rank (the rank it was when you set it basically) (format is YY/MM/DD. I don't know why but let's just leave it at that for simplicity.)
A link to the beatmap (if you're feeling in a good mood)

If you've beaten a score that is set up here, just do the same thing. This is just to get some friendly competition going, and to improve off each other.

Recommended Beatmaps
Here you can put some good songs that you might want to share with other people. Whether it's just for beginners or extremely super mega hardcore, PM me or post it up here, and I'll put it up.

First of all, if you're just starting to play Osu! click here. This is a list of songs that should be suitable for beginners. I haven't tried them all, but DJ KK is a really good one for starters. Enjoy!

GOLIMAR!! - Chiru Normal/Hard
Can't Defeat Airman - Team Nekkokan - HolyCOW Hard

Submissions
Want to put your own Osu! beatmaps here? Just PM me or something, and I'll post it up.

& Down - Boys Noize - Starman Deluxe Insane

Online play/ Hamachi Server
Not many people are fond of a Hamachi server. People say that the server on Osu! is better. I propose that instead of either posting on here and asking for games, or pot-lucking it and hoping that someone is on Osu! at the same time as you, we should go on the Hamachi server and ask if they want matches on there. There's other MFGG servers on Hamachi such as the Wii server and ZSNES server, so I don't see why we can't do it on Osu! We could of course, have both, and just set up matches on Hamachi, and then move onto the Osu! server. But meh, I'm not forcing you to have the Hamachi server, but I just think that it's best to have it. I've set up a Hamachi server called 'MFGG Osu! Server'. The password is:

Why would you use Hamachi when Osu already has multiplayer built into it?

Just go to Play, then Multi and you can host a room from there.

Is the room permanent? I'm not at my normal computer atm, so I can't check into it. I'm just thinking that it'd be easier to make one on Hamachi because the server there is permanent. But if the one on Osu! is, then I guess that's a better option.

Like I said, I haven't been on Osu!'s online before, so I only made the Hamachi one just in case.

I think I'll have to try this.

What would be a good song to start with?

Actually this song, Marisa, and DJ KK were the songs I started out with, myself.

Hamachi isn't some magical osu dedicated server, it's just a virtual lan. If you want an osu server up, you'd have to host it yourself.

It does the job...

Why set up my own when Hamachi does just as good?

EDIT: I've edited the start post. Now there's a subheading for Beatmaps that you want to put up. Also, Hamchi-haters, can you please look at it again. I've changed it and I want to see what you think of it.

Umm...You seem to be missing the point.

You do not need Hamachi to do anything in Osu. In fact I'm recommending you do not.

In fact I'm not sure if Osu even supports LAN games, so using Hamachi for this is like...Using a fork to eat a hamburger.

Talk about redundant

guys guys guys...

I don't mean to talk on Hamachi whilst Osu! is on, that's just stupid. Much like the MFGG ZSNES Server is used to set up a match on the actual ZSNES, the Osu! Server is used to set up an actual match (or whatever you want to call it) on Osu!.

Also, it's like the Brawl Casplay topic. Not many people keep their Wii on just in case on the off-chance someone is waiting for a Brawl match as well. No, they post on the Brawl Casplay topic and ask if anyone wants a game. I'm proposing that we go on Hamachi BEFOREHAND so then you can set up a match on Osu! because not everyone keeps Osu! on all the time. Sure you can just talk on the global online chat, but still, not everyone that subconsciously wants to go on Osu! will be on Osu! Further still, they mayn't even go on Osu!'s online chat.

The burger analogy is kinda wrong, because I believe you're thinking that I'm trying to get across that I want people to go on Hamachi whilst playing Osu!. I don't.

But it's up to you guys. Personally, I think that it's the better option, but I'm not forcing you to go on Hamachi, it's just that it'll be far easier to set up matches. Sure we could post on this here topic, but that's not the point of this topic.
