Sorry to say, but is 6+ shades for each sprite really necessary? Especially low-contrasts ones?

Just saying.

Also, the competition seems tough, as a bunch of top-notch spriters have joined. This should make Final Voting a bit more interesting.

People who keep comparing SGG to whatever is bad: Just stop. It's just a sprite competiton. Play for the fun of spriting. Not for the one week you have of claiming 1st place. Who cares if SGG has spriting abilities that can out match 100 novice spriters combined, allowing him to topple down almost every competition he enters? He enters the competitions because he enjoys them, so stop saying **** like "he just takes your badges away and chucks them in the river" or "he's so greedy he's like ScroogeMcDuck. Doesn't learn to share." If you're that pissed off, then either don't enter, or practice more in your spare time. Go make a forum that has its own sprite competition with the rules "NO EXPERTS ALLOWED!" Whatever it takes, SGG doesn't deserve these metaphors and complaining that you've been giving him recently. If every person who has a 5+ in every category can't enter, then guess what? The Sprite Competitions would eventually die out, wouldn't it? You get like 50 chances a year to win a 1st place badge so why worry about a single competition?

Nice! However, the snow on the floor and pipe looks out-of-style. Otherwhise, I really like it!

I for one like it when the experts enter, because I love seeing their take on the theme and doing it well.

It shows us what you can do if you get good at it.

So Soyeruda's right, stop trying to ban them from the competition because they're better than you.

If you don't make BS Tileset 09, it'll be really unfortunate, considering the amazing skill you have. Great work!

Banning? Lawl. No discrimination. Just people need to stop myoning because experts join the fray. The point of a competition is to provide a competition. You're going to see first-time spriters, and you're going to see expert spriters who should be making Nintendo DS graphics right about now. Why curse out all of the good spriters, when that will discourage good spriting to be shown on this board? ^_^

Well I did start on a tileset 2008 but I think I went a bit overboard. I mean the possibilities are endless

y'know, Shy-guy grey could just have all his +5 badges deleted that way he can earn new badges just so people can stop complaining about his winning all the time even through he has +5 in every place.

Doesn't make a huge amount of difference anyway because if SGG wins more than one comp in a row he has to pass on the next comp to the person in second

so even though the person in seconds doesn't get the gold, he does get to start the new topic so he's still getting 50% of the winnings.

I really don't see how you can improve upon it. It's already about as good as it's getting. There'll only be small differences, IMO. Also, you seem to be adding a ton of uneccesary rotations on the blocks.

@ Black Squirrel's latest post: True. However, a single person can just keep winning competition after competition, preventing anyone else from earning gold, right? Not that anyone doesn't have the life to do that :P

Well you really just need some floor tiles and minimal blocks, maybe even make that fist one out of 8x8 tiles so there's less and people can just put together the ones they need.
